Default Can you run leaded fuel in a stand alone?

I have heard different opinions on this but would like to know the truth. Would running leaded race fuel have an advantage over running unleaded race fuel in a stand alone fuel system? The only reason why I ask is because you can get leaded in much higher octane than unleaded. Thanks.

Well without knowing what your looking to do its hard to say if leaded is for you.Pro's leaded burns cooler than unleaded and you can get some serious octane fuel if you decide to get serious with nitrous.Con's leaded will tear up the o2's if you have them and if your going to be hitting it hard you might as well tune on leaded all the way and forget the seperate fuel system.Unleaded burns hotter and your only limited to 104 octane and for the bigger shots i would not recomend it.Till we know what your goals are it's kinda hard to point you in the right direction.

people told me if you run a mix, you shouldnt burn out your o2s, well not as wuick at least, plus denso makes lead resistent o2s.

i plan on going with a stand alone next year on my setup, i wanted to run a high octane in the stand alone and pump gas in the tank too. and since leaded is a lot cheaper than unleaded, thats what i was going to run untill someody told me otherwise.

i am going to have a forged 346 and plan on spraying a healthy shot of juice through my HSW brute force kit

I do not have o2's in the rear since I do not have cats but I do have 02's up front. Would the front o2's get burnt up from leaded>?

I have run leaded 110 in my stand alone all season with no signs of hurting my o2s yet.

We run leaded C-16 in our stand alones. We have been doing this for many many many years with no problems. You are not using enough of that fuel to worry about the o2s.

I have been using the VP 109 motorsport unleaded this year but will be switching to the c-16 next year for my stand alone. I dont think it would hurt the sensors all the more your using.

Ive been using VP Motorsport 109 unleaded also with no problems but Ive been thinking of trying the 117 Octane C16 as an added safty measure, I'm not shure if I really need it for a small 150 shot though.

Well if the others say your good to go with leaded in a standalone system i would not be afraid to do it then. Im a strait up c16 user and my tune is strickly off the good stuff..I never had dry kits or small throttle body wet plate systems.Im only a DP man and a plate system for the second stage.
