I vouch for the NOS bottles, but they are frigging expensive.

Now if Dave would like to sponsor a Pro-Modified I would be all set.

- They weigh less....... I'm not sure by how much though.
- How are the heating/cooling properties of the CF bottles compared to a regular bottle?

Carbon fiber bottles do not heat up as well as aluminum; they are also not able to hold the heat as well as a standard bottle

It would prevent you from doing a dumbazz thing like standing it upright when full. Divers know not to do it, but every time I've seen someone handle a N2O bottle, they always leave it standing up.
Didn't anyone see Myth Busters when they shot a 50lb bottle (or was it 100 lbs) through a brick wall? LMAO

I ran carbon fiber bottles in my 94 for a while. They are pretty and they are light however like srsnow said they do not retain heat as well as the alluminim bottles.

Robert. I wonder why they put a ungly brass valve on such a beautiful bottle.

I think it might have to do with the thread size of the bottle. It appears to only be about 3/4 of an inch which is usually used on smaller bottles. Only other option I guess would be to use a motorcycle valve. This valve can probably be modified to flow more than a motorcycle valve.

It's just an old picture. All valves are now chrome, and you can have the high flow valve if ya like. Here's the motorcycle valve and small bottle.

Why wouldn't you stand it upright? I've never seen a full bottle any other way unless it was mounted in the car.

Because if they fall and hit the valve on something.. it will launch like an unguided missile through your house, your neighbors house, and probably through their Hummer. You'll never see an experienced diver stand his bottles up unless strapped to something.

A standard bottle really wouldn't have the mass or the height to break the valve off in the manner you are talking about. The bottles have been dragged behind cars, ejected from cars in crashes and the valve never broke off. A steel 64 pound bottle has a lot more mass and a further distance it can fall which can lead to valves breaking which is why they have collars. The aluminum bottles that are used in cars just don't have enough mass to impart enough force to break a valve off. I'm sure you could come up with a way to get it to happen but nothing that would be stopped from happening by just laying the bottle down. And the main reasons the carbon fiber bottles are round on the bottom, is 1 to save weight, and 2 because it is hard to wrap a straight edge in carbon fiber.
