Default 125 dry shot w/ stock 28# injectors???

I bought the Sudden Impact Single Nozzle dry kit from HSW and I am in the process of installing everything. BTW Matt at Harris has given me excellent customer service. I have installed the TR6 plugs. I have a 98 Z28 with a Fuddle 3400 stall, tranny cooler, exhaust cutout, and an airlid.

I am curious if my stock 28# fuel injectors and stock fuel pump will be able to handle a 125 shot. Is there anyone here with that setup? Do you think I should use one of the smaller jets? I should mention that I do not have tuning software myself, but am getting a mail order tune to have my timing pulled for the nitrous system.

I was not planning on putting my car on the dyno and I do not own any wideband sensor. I guess I was hoping that I would be good with a 125 shot because my car has the 28# injectors (98 LS1) versus the 26# injectors that the 99+ LS1's have. Is there any way to tell if my car is leaning out by the way that it runs on the juice? ie detonation

If you think a 125 shot is too big do you think I would be safe with the 100 shot? THANKS

I should also mention that I will be using a RPM window switch with 1st gear locked out. Also I will most likely only be using the nitrous for occassional street races and a couple of passes at the track. Thanks again.

I posted a similar question with regards to my 26#ers. I am going with a dry shot also and based on NA runs I logged in HPT my injector duty cycles peaked to about 86%. My question was basically whether or not my injectors would safely support 100hp hit.
The overwhelming response was that the injectors would exceed 100% duty cycle and go into what is referred to as static state meaning they are flowing the max fuel they can. The problem is that the car can go lean which could be fatal for the motor.
Here is the thread, you can read through it.

I ran out of injector at 400RWHP so i'd say they can do it but it's not adviseable.

I did go to 480rwhp on the dyno on stock 28lb'ers, but I had a WB and logged DC and was aware of how far I pushed it. Don't try this at home unless you can monitor. Many run a 100 dry on stock cars with no problems, will yours be no problem, we will never know unless you log. Now is this rear wheel hp numbers or flywheel numbers on your shot size? I would stick with a 75rwhp shot if ya can't check parameters.

The 125 shot is RWHP. I will just use the 75 shot until I get bigger injectors. Thanks for the replies.

When my car was only bolt-ons I sprayed the 125 jets with my NOS 5177 kit and the A/F was very safe in the high 11s or low 12s.

Remember the NOS 5177 is rated at the flywheel so the hit really was about a 100/105rwhp shot.

I shot 150 with the stock 26s and didn't go lean. a/f was 11.8 but my duty cycle was up at 92% and I wasn't really comfortable with that. I know it would be fine but I would rather back off a little and save a lot.
If I had 28s.. I'd be spraying 150 like antiperspirant... every dang day!

Todd I have a set of 28's sitting on the bench if your interested in them. Cover the shipping and they are yours. I got them from a Corvette forum member who cut me the same deal. Now that I got 42's I know I will not be needing them.

Exactly, that's why I said 125 "jets" It actually made 101rwhp
