Default Before Posting: Look Over The Threads, Possibly Search Key?

How many threads are shown right now with PLATE in the title, how may ask WET or DRY, how many ask basically which brand to buy. I guess this is a rant of sorts but I see the same questions being asked over and over in new threads when existing ones have good responses that are essentially being ignored. I guess the only thing we can do is point out the other threads and suggest the SEARCH function instead of posting specific answers to their questions.

This is nothing. Its been way worse. I used to use something like this:

It would help if when posting, using the info bar to add in key-words. But like everything else on the net, its not really inforceable.....just the ppl that use it get +1 in my book

I will agree that sometimes threads are made that can be answered by just doing a bit of reading, heck I am guilty of it myself, but how many times has the search feature been down on LS1Tech? I know I have attempted to use it unsuccessfully a few times lately includign this past weekend.

And many of the times the search function is dead, you can simply scroll down the current page and have a good chance of answering the question. Of course, the stickies always work, but rarely are exercised Sometimes its as if everyone wants to feel special, and the other hand is, if you dont post your question for personal attention how can you get your post count up Hehehehe.

Finally a reasonable reply. J/K - The post count police need to dock me several posts for this idiotic thread that (essentially) has nothing to do with nitrous.

I say merge all similar threads and start deleting irrelevant posts, especially threads with pictures. Some are of bottle setups, some hidden setups, some are in-your-face setups... I, for one, would like to see these "look at my setup" threads all together so I DON'T have to search when I want to see something someone has done. And I don't like having to sift through the "oh wow that's nice" or "that looks like spaghetti slop, lose the loom" posts either. ...then maybe sticky it, and any new "look at my setup" thread should be locked, deleted, and it's original starter banned for not using the existing thread.

There's also countless FJO threads that could be thrown together, along with all the other progressive controller threads... plenty of switch panel threads, an ungodly number of "what size jets" threads, and a few non-LS1 + nitrous threads too. Then of course the "what stall" and "what clutch" threads, the "how much can my piece of **** stock bottom end handle" threads, the tuning related ones, the "I can't make my ******* mind up" threads... lets not forget the "are my injectors too small" trheads, and finally, most annoying of all: "I have this cam and heads combo, please tell me what I should spray" threads (I think you should just try and see, then YOU tell US), etc., .etc., etc.

HONESTLY, if this place wasn't so cluttered, meaning, when someone does a search and can't find what he or she wants because there are so many threads, we wouldn't constantly have so many damn duplicates popping up every few days.

It doesn't really **** me off that much. Honestly if we didn't have people posting those questions all the time the board would be a lot slower, I mean, there are on so many questions that can be asked about one topic right?

I'm not really sure why post counts matter that much to people either. I have been here since the board was started and only have 14xx posts. The Search button is my best friend

i say when you click add new topic it should go to a page saying please search first and has a direct search bar. then if it isnt posted they can add a new topic.
it would be annoying for those that are trying to sart a new thread but would cut down on multiple posts.

For the comment on merging, I do that when I have the time. Of course, I've noticed in the past that after merging threads, one of the originators couldn't find his post so he started another new one! Holy shitah!

How do multiple threads of the same topic affect you people so much??? If you read the title and it looks like it's not important to you, ignore it. Isn't that simple enough?

I'm not trying to help ME. Doesn't really bother ME that much. I simply noticed it. I'd rather see one comprehensive thread on which plate to use than 4 in one week. It is inefficient use of the forum for the OTHERS who start redundant threads. Seriously, this aggrivates me scale 1-10 about a 5...mainly on principle.
