Default Is a 200 shot the norm now days?

Ive noticed that as time goes by the accepted amount of nitrous on a stock bottom end has gone up. It used to be 150 shot was the most every one was doing. Now i read about heads/cam cars spraying 200. Whats every ones thought on this?

Aslong as you got the fuel system to handle it and a good tune.I know a few people around here spraying 250+ on stock bottom ends.

Call me crazy but it seems like everything I have seen and read says that with larger shots 150 plus you are living on borrowed time with the stock pistons. I can't imagine even with all the safety equipment that they are going to last through too many race seasons before a ring land raises or something.

What's everyones thoughts on a single stage 200 no progressive hit. A lot of people doing dual stage, or pulsing up to a 200, but not many hitting it all at once. Is it pushing the stock s.b. just a little too hard?

That's where you can get into trouble real quick, the all in one off the line mondo torque blast. You'll have very high clyinder pressures and that's the killer, not the hp rating. That is why I chose to limit my off the line hit at 170rwhp, and it still spikes a nice 636rwtq at 3200rpm, then the rest of the 250rwhp shot comes on at 4400rpm in 2nd gear. I want mine to last, and so far so good. A TNT 200rwhp shot is more like a 235 shot, and the torque will be over 700 lbs ft of torque, you may not live long on a stock short block at this level?
