Default How big of a shot w/stock fuel pump?

I have an 01 WS6 and am running the stock fuel pump and was wondering how big of a shot i could run with my setup, also what kind of fuel pump i should go with? I have Kooks headers, TR 224/224 112lsa, underdrive, plugs, wires, electric water pump, slp lid and MAF, BBK 80mm TB, all suspension BMR and Hotchkis, 12 bolt, lightened FW, Ram clutch, and am going with a set of PRC 5.3L 2.5 heads and would like to go with a TNT F2 kit. I want to get injectors too, last dyno the injectors were at like 94%. i was wanting to hit it with a 150 shot right now with stock internals.

I think the cut off for the stock fuel pump and being an 01 is 500 HP. Look at Mods in peoples sigs to get an idea of brand and amount. Oh and feel free to use the search function.

id never do n20 with a stock pump, cheap insurance for a motor...plus everytime i have installed one with a stock pump, the fpss has kept it from spraying...

Upgrade before you spray. You're in the gray area of "Will it be ok? Or not?"

Since you have a cam in there I would suggest upgrading the stock pump to a Racetronix pump. They are $249.99

With the upgraded pump you'll be good to around 600 rwhp.

Im in the same boat and need a fuel pump. The only reason I havnt gotten one is all these horror stories with walbros. Is there a particular reason people are having problems with them. The only thing I can think of is they let there gas tanks run too low and the pump overheats. Can anyone shed some light on that?

thanks for the help, a lot of people have said good stuff about the walbro 255, is the Racetronix pump that much better for the price? I wouldn't want to pay more for something that is going to do the same thing. I was told that i should be able to run a 100 shot on the stock pump and still be ok. I would just like to know as much about it as i can to make the best choice. How long should i be able to run the Racetronix pump and can i rebuild it? Thanks again for all the info guys.

I am running the same cam as you and when i added the juice i picked up a Racetronix kit and even went one more step and picked up some SVO #36 injectors. I wanted to be as safe as possible so it was worth buking out for those things. Good Luck

If you spray with a stock pump a wideband is a must..... I've done it without a wideband, but one is one the way. 125 hp shot last year on stock 26# injectors. I now have FAST 36# injectors, still on the stock pump and waiting for the wideband to see what my afr really is.

I run two Walbro pumps on a 382 Stroker motor and I was trying for a 300 shot and could not meet the fuel demand so dropped down to a 200 shot until I can get a stand alone fuel cell.

been in the 480 rwhp range on both cars with stock fuel pumps in them and hitting 150 shots. these are on wet shots. if you are going to go dry, then larger injectors and fuel pump are a must have. on a wet shot, injector has nothing to do with it.
