Can I really start spraying for $349.99?
sometime this week I got called out at work ( https://ls1tech.com/forums/street-racing-kill-stories/701524-k20-vs-ls1.html ) and saw that you can safely spray a 100 shot on a pretty much stock motor.
Then I saw one of the sponsors here has a basic kit for $349. I know I'd have to change out my tr55s to tr6s. Can I really get away with my stock injectors and stock tune with my pretty much stock engine?
I figure I'd have to spend a little more for the fuel press. switch and window switch. No one in my town that sprays seems to have any trouble not running a bottle heater so that can wait.
Is there anything else I missed?
Also, if I spray above 3000 would I have to worry much about my rearend?
In my opinion, you can do it cheap, but to do it right is a different story.
There are lots of people who bolt on a basic kit and spray it with no problems though. If you have a second daily driver I would say buy a basic kit, add a window switch, fuel pressure safety switch and get a tune. That should keep you pretty safe at 150hp and below....ofcourse some people spray thehell out of their daily drivers...different strokes I guess...
Dry kits are cheaper than wet kits and at your power level the stock injectors should be just fine up to a safe 125hp shot, some people have trouble with a dry 150 and some don't.
EDIT: After reading the other article the shot would probably beat him but i wouldn't want to rush things just for a race...

Now I know I dont have a remote bottle opener, but I have a complete kit that works flawlessly and I have spent 450 total.
