a kb 2.2 is capable of 600 + so i'd say with the 2.8 on pump gas should be capable of mid 6xx and 700 on race gas so you better bring a manly shot of giggle juice.i'd say a 150 shot won't be enough from a roll and even a 200 shot you may be on the recieving end but you never know till you try.i'd personally hit it with a 150 and see how you stand.

I would spray about 250-300, just to see what happens.

yeah, thats a pretty big effin shot. I'd only spray that much from a highway roll, which is prolly when I would need that big of a shot against a KB.

Besides my tranny and converter, the driveline is basically stock so anything too big would make for great fireworks but bad for my wallet if the car hooked. Thats where the progressive comes in.

yeah that 2.8 should put down some big numbers... 600 plus easy maybe even 700, so i would say you need to be in the 550 plus range... and that probably won't be enough if he is in the 650 range...

I saw a convertible whipple cobra Et 10.6 & trap 139mph at Evadale Raceway (Texas). I believe the average KB Et in the 10.9 - 10.4 range with mph in the 130+. I believe you will need a stroker and 150 shot or a 250 shot or better with a heads and cam package.

Yes, the 692rwhp Cobra locally is a race gas 2.8. One has the 2.4 and the other 2 has the 2.2

Yeah, that's sounds like a good idea...do you have a progressive? That would help you from a stop and help you get out of the hole quicker as well. I don't know how the forged bottom motors are holding as far as rwhp wise, but a BIG progressive shot (300 or so) would rip people a new @$$hole, that is for sure...What is the hp rating for your solenoids? If you don't have a progressive and your solenoids can't support that much hp I would start looking into another stage for your system .

A friend of mine raced one in his 01 SS recently and pulled it pretty hard. The cobra was making right at 600 rwhp and his SS made 549rwhp/648rwtq on a 150 shot, they went from a 50mph roll and my friend got out on him like 2 car lengths almost instantly and by 100mph shut it down because the cobra wasnt gaining any ground. They get out harder from a roll because theyre already moving (weight disadvantage from a dig), but if you catch them in a good range you can definitely get out on one like we raced with a 150 shot

However from a dig it's anyones ball game, and if you can get out without spinning you'll probably get out far enough where he cant catch you.

It's basically a full bolt on cobra typically making 450 hp to the tires that slapped a 2.8 KB on it with a tune on pump gas. Nothing exotic or anything. with an IRS. As far as I know.

I don't know his dyno numbers though. I was guessing 650ish, maybe more.

I have run those KB Cobras. I will tell you you will need to be packing some serious heat to keep up. I would say 200-300 shot COULD do it on the street. On the dragstrip I have no clue.

how does a 150 shot only add 60 hp

The KB's I've seen with the IRS don't hook worth a damn. i pulled on one making over 600 .... so he said. i wasn't that impressed. i'm all motor. spray 150 and send him home
