How much spray to beat a KB cobra?
My mods are in sig and I have a forged bottom end, stock cubes. How big of a shot would I need to keep up with or beat a 2.8 KB cobra on pump gas? I haven't been to the track with the M/T drag radials yet but I estimate an 11.8 @ 114-115 mph. I hope this is enough info.

if u made 409rwhp n/a then i would say at least a 150, that puts you around the 560rwhp range and you have a slight weight advantage. most kb cobras put down 600+rwhp

The rear end on the cobras are ****. They dont hook up for ****. On a 100 shot you would kill him from a dig. I have done it with my LT1 on a 150 shot. NOW on the freeway I would go 150+ the KB cobras are bad *** on the freeway. THAT IS JUST MY .02

I wanna keep the car running good NA so I'd rather run race fuel in a stand alone and not retard the timing as much. Good idea?

KB Cobra's can be nasty. You really have to be careful on the street, they are extremely quick from a roll. Chances are if they have a KB they probably have a solid axle too and just might be able to leave decent. A head/cam fbody with a good amount of spray, that can hook worth anything should be able to hold one off from a dig.
