1st gear lockout--Robert?
hey guys, and especially Robert
I want to use a first gear lockout using a micro switch like robert, but I'm afraid that if I stick that little switch in there, the rubber seal that goes around the shifter will catch the switch
Could I use that same idea, but put it on the clutch? So when my clutch is engaged, the nitrous is disarmed?
I don't spray through the shifts, so that wouldn't matter to me....just a thought?

the micro switch has a NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed) terminals. Use the NC and mount it on the side closest to you. Then as soon as you start to depress the pedal, the switch would "open" up (disconnecting the circuit) and shut off the n20 until the clutch pedal is returned.

if i do that however, I could still have it in first gear when I let the clutch out, and then she would spray, which is what I don't want
I'm using a 2-step, so the car will be at WOT at the line

The pics in the wiring sticky of the one I use, it's got like 8-32 machine screws holding it into the aluminum base of the aftermarket shifter. It's been tapped and a dab of lock tight. It is not going anywhere, if that's the concern, and it also won't go out of adjustment. Mine's been there for mucho long time and no problemos with rubber boot or anything else.

yeah I'm just afraid once I put that rubber boot over it, that it could prevent the switch from throwing. I'll have to take a look at it this weekend, today my cage goes in
