Default Heater problems/questions

I hooked up my heater today and nothing happened. I have a NOS heater and i'm running a relay with it. The LED on the switch turns on but its not heating.
My question is....How long does it take for a heater to get warm. I waited for about 3 minutes and didnt feel any difference on the heater. Do i need to wait longer for it to start working?

Thanks

When you throw the switch, you should feel the heating element start to heat up. Full bottle 50 ° takes about 20 minutes to go from 500-600 PSI to say 950-1000 PSI. The heating element should heat up immediately unless your pressure switch is not hooked up or set correctly as well.

Check your switch pinouts. Take the switch out and it has a sticker on the back that tells you what goes were electrically. The center I think goes to the relay, the top I think is your switched +, the bottom I think is ground.

When you activate the switch use a test light and see if the power is getting to the relay. If it is then your trouble is in the relay, check that wiring next.

Do you have a NOS kit with another relay? If so swap out the relays and see if it works then.

Make sure you have 12v going to the white wire on the element

Also are you running a adj pressure switch with this? You cant use both the thermostats and the pressure switch together. I tried and had problems with heating the element until I talked to Kyle@NOS

I double checked the wiring to the switch and it is correct.

I'm running an NX relay with the NOS heater. I'm not running the pressure switch or the thermostat. I figured i didnt need the thermostat because i have a pressure gauge. Once the pressure was at the desired number i would turn the heater off.
Could not running a thermostat cause the heater to not work?

BTW...i'll have to play around with the relay. Maybe its wired wrong but i dont think it is.

Switch center wire to Pin 86
Pin 85 to Ground
Pin 30 your Fused + supply (nice thick wire)
Pin 87 to one wire of the heater element, the other heater element to ground.

Hook the power that goes to the switch to the wire that goes to the bottle heater from the switch. If you can not tell it's heating in about 15seconds, you wired something wrong as it is getting power. Make sure the relay is correct like beer99 mentioned.
