Very high bottle pressure - is it ok to spray???
The last time I had my 10 lb.bottle filled the guy at the shop put it in a freezer to cool it down first before filling it. Well now when the temperature outside is 80* the pressure gauge shows 1340 PSI!!!
I had it tuned with about 950 PSI a few weeks ago and the AFR was set a little rich just to be safe all the way through the RPM range. On the dyno it showed 13:1 at lower RPMs and 10.5:1 at higher RPMs.
I have an HSW wet kit and am spraying a 125 shot on my stock fuel pump. The only other mods are a lid, 3400 stall, and exhaust cutout (on stock exhaust).
I am guessing at 1340 PSI I am going to be running lean. What the heck should I do? I guess I could cool the bottle down myself until it reaches 950 PSI and then make a spray run to relieve some pressure. Any ideas??? I really don't want to damage my engine because the PSI is sky high. THANKS.

Keep the bottle cool, dont park the car in the sun, etc.
For cooling a hot bottle down, get it in some shade, give it time, take it out and put it somewhere cold.
Purging is a great way to relieve some bottle pressure.
And you are correct, I would not spray with that much bottle pressure. About 1050 is the max I would spray with.

When mine gets that hot I run the bottle under some cold water. It only takes a minute to drop the pressure. I popped my disc just recently so if I know my car will be sitting in the sun all day i'll take it out.

The shop put it in a freezer first before filling it. He didn't want to fill it with 950 PSI. There was still a pound or two in it.

faulty gauge? grab someone elses gauge, or turn it upside down and crack it and let some air out ...be careful of messing with it, if that disc burst it could cause the bottle to burn (frost) you

Unrelated but does anyone else mount their noids right on the bottle like this? If not what is the drawback besides a split second before getting nitrous flow? I am running a dry kit so it doesn't really matter if the fuel and nitrous get to the nozzle at the same time...anyone?
