Default Nitrous noob

How bad is nitrous for your engine? If I put a 100 shot on a pretty much stock C6 is it going to hurt anything?

Whats the biggest you should run on a stock LSX engine?

Thanks for your help

P.S. I tried a search but it was down.

100 is going to do nothing on your car.. you can run 150 shot with no problems. i say run 150 wet shot but with the kit get a heater, fpss, plugs, blow down tube window switch, and a new fuel pump. before all of that though i would do your basic bolts on and you will get more out of the kit. read the stickies though

Sorry....I said stock but I have full exhaust, CAI, and a dyno tune.

Is the install easy or should it be done by a somebody that has done it before? I'm a mechanic by trade so I know my way around an engine bay....I'm just a nitrous noob.lol

when you say is going to do "nothing" do you mean I wont get good power from it or it wont hurt my LS2? I'm guessing you mean it wont hurt it but I'm just making sure. lol

And what is a reasonable price for the 100 shot kit and all the goodies + the install? Thanks for the help guys

it wont hurt the engine, since you have a tune you are going to have to pull some timing, are you going with a wet or dry kit? I would go with a dry kit if you are only going to use 100hp, if you want to save money do the install yourself its really easy and then get a nitrous tune and some colder plugs woulndt hurt either

I dont plan on using the nitrous all that much...maybe a few 1/4 miles passes and a few street races a year. How much Hp will I lose with a nitrous tune if I run on all engine?

I'm not quite sure if I'm going to get a wet or dry kit. I'm going to spend the next few weeks researching to make sure I get what I really want.

Will the stock tune work with a 100 shot or do I do I need to pull the timing down more than stock?

I have a C6 with all the bolt-ons plus heads/cam. I'm currently running a TNT 150 shot on it. No problems whatsoever, and the kick in the *** is just insane. Wet kits are a little more expensive, but easy to tune, and most any tuner can do the tuning. Dry kits are a lot cheaper, and are very safe as well. You could probably install either kit yourself, but you'd need some tuning. You can probably do a 75 dry shot without any tuning. Go for it you are going to love it.
