Default Biggest shot ever?

Does anyone know what the biggest shot sprayed on a stock LS1 block with or without forged internals without blowing it up?

There is a guy around me that has sprayed as much as 275 on his stock bottom end. He was going to shoot 300 but they couldn't get the 275 to hook

with any other mods or cam you can prolly do 350 in 2 or 3 stages and make it live...for one pass i bet you can make a 400 hold
reliably as long as you arent breaking the 600 mark it will live a long time

I know of a 300 shot it took 10 passes to kill it. I thought that was very good for a stock bottom end with 80K.

So a 200 shot is relatively safe then?

Hacker Joe sprayed 250 or so back in 1999 to be the first LS1 in the 10's.

It was fine on 110, but he then had a brain fart and sprayed it on pump gas. It's neat to hear a motor that runs with only 7 pistons in it.

I think 200 with good fuel and tune is doable.

I have a friend who used to spray a 200 shot. He used directport which is the safest and most reliable way if you are going with a large shot.

My set-up can go from 150 to 600 with a total of 3 stages. I have it set-up for a 150 in 1 stage when it goes on the car. I might try going 200 one time and see how it likes it. Will keep everyone updated.

personally, i've done a single 200 successfully. i tried a 100 dry/ 150 wet and fell over in the 1/8 mile. switched to a 100 wet/ 150 wet and same thing happened. worst i've done is melt a couple of plugs.

took the motor apart and still looked brand new. new bearings and rings and lives on in another car with a 180 direct port attached to it.

Ran the end of '06 season @ 250rwhp shot in dual stage, and the begining of '07. This along with accumulated 200+ passes (variuos size hits) on BONESTOCK longblock LS6. The death blow came on a dyno day shoot out where we sprayed 285rwhp dual staged shot and a ringland gave out (did win the top honors for best numbers though, lol). These motors can really take a beating and keep on running given tune parameters are spot on. Video of the dyno death run in ls1tech vids.

yes and no. How long do you want your motor to last? I made 636rwtq with a 170 dry @ 3400rpm on stock block. It'll live for a while, better to split up the tq spike. i finally blew mine at 665rwtq down low, so let that be a warning.

i'm spraying my 100 at 4k right from the start ,launching at 6k, and delaying it .1 and finish it off .3 later starts at 80% to 100. i got lpe fuel pump, and i log all my runs. if i do a 200 i'll try to do it once in a while. is the stuff i got for fuel enough for a 200? for me the challenge is keeping it together for 2 seasons, after that i'll take out and stroke it and forge it. you were running very agressive timing when she broke on the dyno right?

The most I've ever seen anyone run on a LS engine period is Guess Who. He's hitting his with a 700 shot right now. It's two dry 350 stages.

Yep, I accidently added 4* of timing instead of pulling it like we planned (total of 26* when it blew). So it may have lived a little longer but was really on borrowed time anyway.
