Supercharger + Nitrous Advice
Hi Guys,
I'm new to the Forum and looking for some advice. I have a 97 Corvette (A4) with a 402 LS2 motor + ATI ProCharger supercharger system. The SC is not efficient, but I am not sure I want to spend the $$ to have it replaced. My set-up currently puts down approx. 600 rwhp/rwtq. I was thinking of "helping" the system to be more efficient by adding nitrous. I have read a lot of the posts here on the Forum and talked to some of the vendors (Dyno Tune, Nitrous Outlet). At first I was thinking a 2-stage kit (combination wet and dry), but now I am thinking of just a small dry shot (say 100). I thought this would be the easiset from a tuning perspective because the MAF would do all the work (fingers crossed).
Has anyone sprayed a supercharged motor before? Any advice you an give a guy attempting to do this would be greatly appreciated. I do have upgraded injectors (60 lbs) and fuel pump already.
Thanks!

your car should make WAY the **** more than 600whp with a 402 and a blower. Go to the FI section and look for posts by Drewstein. His stock LS1 w/ a camshaft and d1sc made 641 to the wheels on 10psi. Now the car makes in the 775-800 range on 11-12psi with a Katech LS2 402 and the same blower.
It's not the superchargers fault, it's one of the above blaming the blower.

I have sprayed an old school blower with dual 100shots, just to see what happens. 7lb kit, jump to 15lbs and pegged my gauge.
If running a nozzle put between maf and tbody. or if a plate install and let it chew.
START SMALL no matter what.

Thanks for your feedback. I just want to make sure I don't go overboard and hurt the motor.
I would do a small WET shot, easily tuned just by changing the fuel or nitrous jet. Start small 35 or 50shot. The output power will be more then the jets HP puts out on a NA car. And you could a higher pressure on the boost gauge.

I know the car should be making way more power. I am certain it's the blower and not the motor. I picked up 150 rwhp when I went from the 346 c.i. to the 402 c.i. The problem with the blower kit I have is twofold. The head unit is small (P1SC) for the larger displacement motor and the set-up (dual intercoolers that are quite small) means the car is sucking through the equivalent of a straw. Very inefficient. I know other Vette guys who have trashed the daul intercooler set-up and went with a single (huge) front mounted unit. It is so much more efficient. I should have gone with the better set-up when I first purcashed the kit a number of years back, but my mechanic at the time was hesitant about installing another "tuner's" kit. Needless to say, he has since been fired and no longer works on my car. That said, if I need to replace the kit and head unit, I am talking huge dollars. I figure I could do the same job with a shot of nitrous...for a lot less money.
Thanks for your feedback. I just want to make sure I don't go overboard and hurt the motor.

The F1 Ring though is a great idea, just not sure hwo they work with an FI intake

But the nozzles and rest of the parts are fine.

if its a p1sc, the that about all that blower will put out. i would spring for a f1c with a front mount intercooler first, andthen add a plate kit with a fuel stand alone.
But if I was dealing with a small budget, could I not spring for the nitrous first? How much is a safe amount to run? I was thinking a 2-stage (50 + 100)...
itll end up being a restriction i believe. you could pill it down to a 100 shot see how it likes it and move up from there, but i think your best best would be to move up on head units first and fix your cooling
