A basic Dry kit nozzle needs to be positioned in FRONT of the MAF, so the lid is correct in your application.

Do a search for "Dry" "Nozzle Position" etc, that should get you pics of others setup.

You can call any of the forum Nitrous Vendors, they can help you as well, even if its not their kit.

Take a look at this link... This is the dry installation I did.
There are other pics in my garage, so I am linking you to the nozzle pic.

make sure you are close to the air entry point of the MAF, you might want to play with it eally, and see where the best cirrculation is so the N2O gets distributed across the MAF's heat bars correctly.
Look thru these forums, there is some guy who put the nozzle on a side, and says that his N2O doesnt hit good.
That might be a thought.
Mine is a 02 Z28 camaro.
Dynotune dry kit.
And you can see where the nozzle is in the pic

Boy, there must be something wrong. What nozzle(s) you running ie: style, 90*, 45*, straights, how many etc. Pic of locations choosen would be good. Might want to read the above threads. Remember, with the spray bar only internal pcm tuning can be used for a/f.

i've had the same nozzle spraying 30+ bottles between two installations in two cars without a problem. it is a single 70 degree - it was working fine, then i removed it to get some work done. when i threw it back on, i could never get it lined up just right to read the full hit (that damned vertical divider in the tb).
