sure but keep it in neutral or park and rev the motor up to atleast 3500 rpm before you spray it, dont spray below that rpm or youll go lean real fast with a 100 shot..only do it for a split second.. but to make it easier why dont you just cruise down the road and try it seems like that would be more fun

Yes you can close the bottle (so youll be VERY rich) and arm the system like normal and go ahead and gun it in second or third. It should quickly bog and sputter and then even after you let off the fuel in the line will have to clear and it may be hard to idle or buck a bit of cruising. Just rev it a few times to clear the fuel.

So the answer is yes...its a common practice.

Wouldnt it just be better to disconnect the nozzle from the intake and spray it? Same thing just would be going into the motor.

I do that with no problems. It's just a quick an easy check before you open your bottle. Much easier than poppin the hood and disconnecting nozzles and stuff.

seems like that would be asking for a backfire?

Nah, he'll get a backfire if he goes lean, which is impossible if hes spraying fuel and no nitrous.

A backfire occurs in the intake when there is puddling...too much fuel.

Well, I agree with you on a lot of things Ponch, but im going to have to disagree with you here. I really dont believe in the whole fuel puddling thing, especially with shots of 150 or smaller. I think most intake backfires are caused by lean conditions when the nitrous is present. Not enough fuel for the nitrous and the mixture ignites before its supposed to, and ignites the fuel vapors in the intake along with it. If you rev the drive the car as you normally do during a nitrous run, but are only ijecting fuel, its simply going to get sucked into the intake as usual, and you engine will bog due to being to rich.

I have done this before with no problems but I would like you said and only do it real quick. I wouldn't worry about a nitrous back fire, Nitrous back fires are from going too lean IMO.

or let off, or release the button, depends on how you have it setup.
is it setup to engage at WOT or the push of a button?

exacto, you arm it with a button style switch and it activates at WOT, so just sort of build of your rpm at half throttle, then just blurb the throttle and see if it bogs down. but like everyone has been saying, its a very slight blurp, you'll mess somethin up holding it down to long.
