Default 225 shot! Is this safe?

I have been spraying my stock short block for over 2 years now with a 150 hit. I have a 2000SS, h/c with all the supporting mods to go along with that ( including a walbro 255lph fuel pump ). I have tr-6 plugs and run VP 103 when I spray the car. Is it safe to add a second kit with 75hp more shot? I'll have the second kit coming on at the 1/8th for a total of 225hp. I've gotten mixed opinions about this from friends. What do y'all think the survival rating of my stock short block will be for a few passes on the 225 shot? Any info. will be greatly appreciated!

It's like this. 150shot off the line from the first kit and the second kit will be getting hit at the 1/8th. So it will be in 2 different stages. Also is your short block stock?

with a safe tune you can run a 225 shot for extended periods of time. i would definitly use a progressive controller on that size of a shot.

Then are you saying I should ditch the second stage and just run a full 225 shot progressive controlled through the 1/4, or still run it on a secong stage also, but just with a progressive controler?

I think you'll be fine. Make sure you have a fpss if it's all gonna be on the Walbro. You're also going to need to run 2 bottles.

2 stage is the way to go. Forget about the progressive.

You really think I would need 2 bottles? I do have a fpss also, so I'm good there.

I tried running a 200 shot off one bottle, and it nosed over on the top end. The bottle couldn't keep up with the demand.

with a stock bottom end i would suggest using the controller it will put a little bit less stress on the motor then just hitting it with another 75 shot. we have stock bottom end cars going 2+ years at 250 shots using a progressed single stage. Assuming you have a trans and rear to take the beating you can also be up to the 225 shot in second gear rather then waiting till the 1/8th. on a 225 shot i dont see a need to do both the controller and 2 stage.

That makes sence also. How dependable are those controllers and whats the cost of them? Also I leave on the juice with bottle psi around 1100. Will this still be safe?

Crazy thinking you need a second bottle. I ran a 250hp, 300hp, and 350 shot with a single bottle. You dont need 2 bottles to run a 225 shot. A single bottle either 10 or 15lb and a warmer and you are good to go.

Are you running 1/8th or 1/4?

So does anybody have any good suggestions on which progressive controller to go with? Also I'm a M6 if that matters.

I agree with the two bottles comment, i dont see how you could have ran a 300 shot with one 10lb bottle, the pressure drop even with a heater is too much. I am going to run two bottles on 175-200 shot, might be overkill but wont have to worry.
I have a NOS progressive controller and usually dont use it much but i will with more nos. I wouldnt spend too much on a controller if you have two stages...Its better im sure but at least you ahve two stages.
I spendt 550 on my controller but it has delays and start and final percentages etc..a cheaper one is like 200-250 bucks ithink. You only get to choose 0-10 seconds to 100% tho. I like mine, i can mess with ppl....
M6 doesnt matter...they dont reset btwn shifts..mine doenst anyway.

Good luck.
I have 100k miles on my stock block andwill be trying close to what you are...

In the 1/8th I could see running a bigger shot off of one bottle. On a 200 mine would seem to nose over at the 1000' mark. The only way I could see it working on one bottle would be with the NANO system.

That sounds like alot for stock bottom end but with a good tune and a nitrous controller box it may be ok for a while. I would definitely consider getting a built bottom end though
