Anyone using Nitrous/Methanol combo?
Anyone using Nitrous with a separate fuel tank using methanol for nitrous fuel? This helps octane & det's plus a cooler charge. This will get you a extra 50 hp with the same amount of nitrous. I am surprised more people don't try this. The only thing to change is use the teflon solenoid seals & extra fuel tank with larger fuel jets. I may go this way when I go with a fuel tank in the battery area from Harris. Pick up a safer system with a lot more power same nitrous shot.

Cooler running combustion but still hot enough to break down Nitrous oxygen more timing more hp because a larger amount (denser) of fuel is mixed with nitrous/oxygen
combustion. Same theory as why a alcohol car run's faster then a gas car. Same amount of nitrous with methanol will give you 50 HP to 80 HP more power but it needs gas for the motor to have enough heat to release oxygen molecules from the nitrous.
So the best & safest way to run bigger shots of nitrous safe with more HP. No worry of dets or heat damage also no lead.

NX has the ratio & jets worked out. I think it is on their site. It is a fixed ratio like gas
except larger jets on the fuel side about 60% larger jets. The engine tolerates a richer methanol mix better then a richer gas mix. So error toward rich with no loss of power. That is a good thing your jetting on fuel side is broader & much safer to tune to. More forgiving on timing also not have to pull timing or vary little if running big timing. No melting pistons or plugs by a wide margin of error.

so basically this stuff will ensure that you wont fry a piston on a nitrous hit?
AND add anywhere from 50-80 rwhp?

Thats my question, If it is so good how come we dont hear more about it. What are the down sides to it?

I was thinking of what the ''CATCH" is. But it doesnt sound like there are any.
Maybe this is just something that not a lot of people know about. In anycase..... im almost certain im getting one. if I can get just a LITTLE more info about it.

It has been done for years younger guys just don't know about it. Old guys have seen it for years. Look at any good nitrous book lots of info about it. Most guys don't want to add a extra fuel cell. Harris has the full fuel cell & pumps/regulator for about $500.00 then most places like NX has the teflon plungers or full solenoids for fuel side to work with methanol. No down side just more power & safer. I like the fuel cell Harris has for the battery area & move battery to the back.

Methanol is cheaper then race gas also. When spraying overall octane will be well over 100 octane plus it burn better & cooler so no dets issues to worry about or pulling so much timing. Been around for over 15 years I know of. See a lot of big block guys doing it with 2 or 3 stage nitrous great for big 2 stage shots also. 1/10 per 10 hp is a good cheap mod. Try .5 faster then gas

I ran a meth/nitrous setup back in 2000 or so, it worked really good and made more power than running race gas did.
I used an alky solenoid, separate fuel pump and 1 gallon cell mounted up front I just checked between runs.

The big draw for me is being able to run a slightly bigger nitrous hit really safe. if it makes 50more hp from that then thats really COOL. But I want safe and reliable power from nitrous. So i think i'll be trying to get this kit when I can. I just hope that 260$ will work.

Been doing it for a bunch of years now and it is vastly better than straight race fuel in my opinion. You get away with much more timing and to be honest I have found the limiting factor to be the durability of the pistons in relation to cylinder pressure. The amount of timing one can run using meth instead of fuel is staggering. NO DETONATION!!! PM me for details and or any questions.
