Default how long doesnt it take for your bottle heater to bring your bottle up to pressure

i have the black dynotune bottle warmer and it seems like it takes a long time to heat up. been around 50 degrees outside here and when i open the valve the bottle will be at around 600-650 psi. the bottle heater takes about 25-30 minutes to heat to 950-975 psi.

also it seems like only half the heater gets really hot to the touch and the other half only gets kinda warm

this is my first bottle heater (formerly used the propane torch method) so i was just curious if this is normal

I have the same one and it does take forever! I am also trying to heat a 15lb bottle though. Makes me want NANO more and more!

I have a dyno tune heater also. When i open my bottle in 50 degree weather my psi is normally at 800-900, 700 at the lowest. It usually takes my heater 25-30 mins to get to 1100 Psi. I would say your heater is right on the mark ex you bottle pressure seems a little low initially. Are you referring to a full bottle? I am interested in how the Harris speed works heater compares

I think that is normal. I have a NOS heater and when i open my bottle when its 50 degrees outside it takes like 30 minutes to get from 650-700 to 1050psi. I hate that!

we set out to try and cut down the time it takes heaters to get the bottle up to pressure and have been very successfull with our Revolution heater. it'll get a bottle up to psi 20% quicker than a conventional 300watt heater yet its only a 280watt heater. here's a little more about it...

I stick my bottle in a sink with hot water running...It gets it up to pressure within a few minutes. Then I shut the water off and let it sit in the half full sink and it'll maintain the pressure until I'm ready to throw it in the car.

Guys,
Sounds about right.

Rick,
Nice charts but if you could list the company name(s) of the 300 watt heater you used for your comparison it would be helpful as wattage is one difference but so is the internal layout of the heating element. Not all 300 watt heaters perform the same.

I would say I'm around 1050-1100 in about 20 mins with my HSW heater. I usually have it on while I'm driving up to a meet and turn it off and on every now and then until I'm ready to run.

Anyone else have a heater/bracket combo? I just put this in and the damn thing heats my floor more than the bottle. I'm a little mad about it....

Those times seem kinda slow to heat up a full bottle. My nx heater takes 10 minutes at the most on a full bottle on a cold day to get to 1050psi. Now when the bottle is 1/4 full thats a different story, around 25-30 min. Also I use a bottle blanket with the heater.

I have the HSW Revolution shown above and it takes 10 minutes max to go from 650-950 psi. Then again I melted some plastic in my trunk with it as well when I accidently turned it on when it wasn't wrapped around the bottle... This heater draws close to 20A for those that are concerned.

My NX heater also takes about 10 minutes to warm up a full bottle (10 pounder) to 1050 psi.

I know I waste way too much time at the track waiting for my bottle to warm up. I'm trying to save up for the Nano this spring.

Yes, I have the 860 bracket/heater combo w/auto temp switch. I also have a bottle blanket and it takes 20-30 minutes as all the rest depending on outside temps. First thing I do when I start the car is turn on the system so it'll heat up by the time I get anywhere. I do spray arounf 1050-1100 so it actually gets to 950 a little sooner...
Love the 860 bracket though!

Come to think of it Mr. Higgs Boson, those things are junk! I'll do you a favor and give ya $50.00 for yours! LOLOL!

20-30 minutes at 50° sounds good to me. There's a lot of mass involved.

Hey Dean,

Didn't you & Nick go over the test via PM like a year or two ago?
