Question Went to the dyno today

Ok so i just got my car dyno'd with a 150 wet shot and it was have a lot of lean spikes and we figured its the stock fuel pump couldn't keep up so i guess im looking for a fuel pump. I was looking at the racetronix fuel pump or should i just go with like a Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump? What would be the benefits of the racetronix kit? Would i have to do the same modifications to make the walbro pump fit as the racetronix?
Thanks

walbro is good.i thought that with a wet kit u could adjust the amount of fuel u added so that wouldnt happen? anyways a walbro will do the trick as long as your injectors are able to supply the amount of fuel u need

If you research the Racetronics kit it seems that it is a top quality kit. I am going to go with it over the universal Walbro. There is somewhere on this board a writeup on the kit, it is good reading and should be looked at. Do a search on the Racetronics kit and you will find it. In a wet kit the injectors are not supplying the extra fuel so it sounds like it is your fuel pump.

Even thought a wet kit has it's own fuel silenoid, it still takes fuel from the factory fuel lines. Even a Walbro 255 won't have enough flow to keep up with the engine and nitrous.
You could use the 255 and something like a boost-a-pump or nitrous inline pump.

Me and my buddy just installed a Racetronix kit on his '02. It look us about 1.5 hours including cutting an access panel (instead of dropping the tank).

The Racetronix kit would be fine for your needs. It comes with a Walbro pump, but it also comes with a "hotwire kit" that basically uses a big wire and pulls power directly off the alternator to maximize the pump output (without a boost-a-pump).

HIJACK: How do you like the Hoosier 315/35/17's? I think I may try them since my 315 ET Streets are worn out and new ones are on back order.

What's nice about the racetronix kit is you don't have to modify the bucket. Its a drop in deal. It also comes with the hot wire kit which is a must have!

A racetronix kit uses a Walbro 255 if I'm not mistaken, the big advantage is the wiring kit from racetronix, which keeps steady voltage going back to the fuel pump, much like the idea of a B-A-P that has already been mentioned....

A racetronix pump/wiring kit should do you just fine.

the racetronics kit is a proven performer and has connection for a boost a pump if you need it later down the road. They are really easy to put in if you are doing it yourself.

Yes I would do the Racetronics upgrade, and have been to 300rwhp shots and over 600rwhp with the in tank. However, one thing to point out, you said lean spikes, like more than one occasion. Also, i see your a 6-speed. It is normal to see a lean spike at each gear change. depending on how fast you make your shift, given your lifting a tad, will be the factor in how long the spike remains. If your under ½ second don't worry it will harm nothing. I get them every run. Looking at my HP Tuner program I can see exactly when/where/why and for how long the spike is there. My shifts are fast enough that the spike is really there for milla seconds, but look bad to the uninformed eye. Now if your doing full power shifts there should be no spikes through the run.

Where they lean spikes, or just over all a lean condition? If it's a spike a pump will help a little, but a fuel rail mounted fuel pressure regulator & return will help more, or going to a stand alone. If it's on the lean side because the pump can't keep up the Racetronix pump will cure that. Just a FYI we carry both:

They hook like crazy in first gear all the way through i haven't really tried them out with the 150 shot yet, they are almost slicks so i dont think they would be good in the rain and they are pretty sticky and soft so porbley wont last long. But overall i like them alot.

Had a friend tell me, his friend wore a set out in one weekend of racing. Take it for what it's worth. Maybe he likes to do John Force type burnouts?
