Default Popping from exhaust when spraying?

Ok i just want to make sure this is most likely my spark plug gap.

Im running a dual nozzle 200 shot. 52 N and 27 F for the jets. I pull out 4* of timming on my msd timing controller and bottle presure at 900. It pops when i spray. " pop, pop, pop, " several times. I totally forgot to gap my Tr6's to .025, instead i left them at the factory settings. I was told to gap them at .025-.028 from one of the cold fusion guys. Or should i just gap them to .030 - .032 and work from there?

Please get back with me ASAP!

Thanks

pull MORE TIMING pull like 10 degrees...4 is prolly not enough...what tuen do you have? a motor tune or nitrous? i dont hav a jet chart but assuming your pressure is good then its prolly timing...

mine poped out of the exhaust 2 times...once with too much fuel and another with too low pressure on the bottle

Well i actually did run it 1st with 6* pulled along with 650psi. Its kinda cold here so it took forever to build up psi. It popped alot. so i waited and then pulled 4* of timming and let it get up to 850 and then popping actually was not as bad as the 6*. Maybe actually let it hit 900-1000psi and try 4*?

The car is tuned with 0* of timming all across the board. My msd timing controller is suppose to be on 15* which is equal to 0* on my PCM. So pulling 4* would be -4* of timing. Plus i have a LT1 355 forged, not a LS1

My car did the same when I had too much fuel and also when I did not have the right gap on the plugs. I have a 95 TA with a wet kit. I have my gap set at .035 with ngk tr6's and now it is perfect. Go you have a wide band? I woulsd also check air-fuel to be safe.

^ +1, If you are spraying at 650psi you are getting way too much fuel. That popping sound you are hearing is the sound of unburnt fuel igniting in your exhaust.

Poping in the exhaust is normalu unburned fuel. Your bottle pressure needs to be atleast 900psi and your airfuel needs to be around 11.5 to 11.8.

Timming on a 200 shot should be around 18-20 degrees total timming.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, it will fix the popping sound. If you don't fix the timing and spark plug gap you're going to have a lot larger problem on your hands, like chunks of pistons coming out your exhaust.

well the motor is forged. So id prob be popping headgaskets.

So what you are saying dave is pull out 15* of timing. Thats all i can pull out of hte MSD timing controller. I thought it was 4* since it is a LT1 OBD1 and all my timing is 0* out on the lt1 edit.

phhsss... i run 28 degrees of timing on my 200 hit lol. never had any problems but i seem to be a strange exception to the timing rule.
