Default New NX dry maf results

Finally got on a dyno to make the full tests. I bought a beater car just to test this thing and have some fun with. Car is a 1998 B4C police car with 172,000 mile on the stock longblock. Only mods are Jethot longtubes, SLP dual dual catback, SLP lid, semi built 4l60E and a Yank SS3600 converter. Tranny and converter have about 45k miles on them. motor is the original with 172k miles on it

Car had never been tuned before so it was very rich to start at like 12 to 1 AF. So Jeremy Formato slapped a quick tune on it and got it to about 12.8. Power went from 307 rwhp to 317 rwhp. No real timing adjustments were made.

So with a baseline of 317 rwhp and 12.8 AF all motor we sprayed the 125 shot with 900 psi bottle pressure (semi-low pressure) and the NX nitrous AF adjustment **** fully closed. Net result was 430 rwhp and 9.9-10.0 AF ratio....just off the scale on the dynojet wideband.

Next run I opened the valve 1 full turn and made a run....bottle pressure was down a bit since the runs where bakc to back and I have no heater. This time HP went up to 438rwhp and AF ratio went to a solid 11.8.

Made one more run closing the valve 1/2 turn again...this time we made the same 438 rwhp with AF at a solid 11.5 to 1 AF ratio...bottle pressure again slightly lower. I was shooting for 11.5 so I left it alone from there.

We made three runs to get the desired AF on the dry hit and the adjustments took about 1 second to do since its just turning a **** with easy access.

So that was a gain of bout 121 rwhp on the 125 jets thru a 3600 stall and roughly 860-900 psi on the bottle. It helpt to get the power your supposed to when you can dial in your AF ratio.

BTW all dyno #s were unlocked and SAE corrected.

While we were there Jeremy Formato slapped in automatic dry nitrous retard via the tune for when I hit it with a large shot

Injector duty cylcle at 440 rwhp was 97% duty cycle. If this was a 6 speed the dyno would be roughly 480+ or so. This was on stock 172k mile fuel pump and stock 172k mile 28 lb injectors. So with this setup and a 98,01,02 you could probably hit 500 rwhp with stock stuff...or 475 total with 99,00 with a T56.

I intend to hit 10s with this stock 172k mile longblock and this kit. Hell I dont even have an LS6 intake...lol....and 172k mile valve springs.

We will see how this beater hold up.

Overall i couldnt be happier with this new NX kit. Its simplicity at its finest. The kit comes with the autolearn TPS switch, the MAF head unit and associated wiring, and choice of bottles. Hookup is very easy. Only one hose connection and about 6 wires as it comes. I have it hooked up just as it comes in the box. No extra window switch (recomended) and nothing else.

So all you dry guys out there that wanted dry for its simplicity/reliability but had no way to adjust AF ratio can now do it this way. I dont believe there is a simpler setup out there. And the best thing is the mechanism to adjust AF ratio is a simple MECHANICAL device that is built into the unit itself. if you can turn a **** you can tune the AF ratio

Anyways...Im headed out to go watch the UFC at Buffalo Wild Wings. I have more to add later.

I am finally satisfied with the operation of this setup and I am going to give NX the go ahead and stamp of approval

Hopefully they will start spitting them out

Thats awesome! Great seeing an innovative product from a forum member brought into production!

Wish it was available when I started, it would have been the kit I would have started with.

Me too. MY first dry kit was a solid 12.5 to 1 AF ratio all day long

what kind of $$$ do these go for?
I should have the final price soon. But my guess is between $749-$799
Keep in mind it comes with the autolearn TPS (instead of a WOT switch) and a mac daddy NX bottle with thier new valve that has two extra ports for accesories such as NANO or other gauges/sensors, and of course the MAF head unit itself.

ill try to get some more pics this weekend.

BTW..I am going to recomend they change the **** to a recessed slotted set screw. That way its more unlikely to inadvertantly get moved once its set.

You could keep the same setup and just throw a jam nut under the **** if the shank were threaded.

I have sprayed 700-750 rwhp total thru the stock rails on several different cars.
