Nice resurrection. I was thinkin about this same thing the past few days. After I get $$ I should be 460-470 motor, plus 100-150 shot so at 600+ rwhp on spray. I will be at near 90k-100k miles on motor so was lookin for high mileage motors. Didn't know how long it would last like that and i don't have money for a new block anytime soon!!

You could honestly build/freshen up your current motor for fairly cheap before the damage happens. It all depends on how much you want to sink into a stock cubed motor, or if you have plans to go big cubed in the future.

With punks like pete in my hood, you gotta. We already talked about most of it, TH400 reverse manual VB, 4400 stall ATI treemaster, TCI gated shifter, Moser 9inch, Prostars with skinnies and 28inch 10.5 hooser slicks, full suspension from UMI. Everything but the rear has already been purchased. Ripping the dash out right now for weight reduction. Already installed the 5 inch monster tach with shift light, looks like a racecar already!

I took a poop on your MAF, hope that doesn't mess up its readings.

I put down 415/420 unlocked stalled auto N/A then sprayed a 150 putting down 575/611 to the wheels.

the setup on the new car promises to be stouter as im about to hit the stock bottem end with tfs215's, custom cam, ported fast, and NX direct port.

Im in the same boat. I wanna throw at least 100 shot if not a 150 shot at it but im afraid that the motor wont last to long since im already at 450rwhp now. My only saving grace is that the car only has 28k on it but i would hate to blow up a good motor.

Like i said in the other thread, its more then possible and has been done countless times. You just need to be aware that you may break. Its all part of playing the game

seee I haven't really decided about that yet. I was thinking it might get a little bigger nothing bigger then 383 though. Would like to see a nice h/c/spray car in the 9's so it might need a few more cubes to make it easier. What should be touched up to prevent breaking??

I hear that whole part of the game playing with spray and that much hp, it's just sad to think about building this nice project and then breaking. I'm going to have a 90k motor throwing expensive TFS 215's, 92/92, and spray. If it breaks i'd go insane haha

It does suck, but thats just the nature of it. Given the right kit and a quality tune, you shouldnt have any problems though.

You could punch it out to 3.905, get a set of forged pistons and rods, and have a stout little 347. No reason that shouldn't go 9's on a moderate amount of spray and last for a while.

383 uses the same bore, but you would have to fork out the money to buy a new crank.

yeah that's what I was thinkin a nice powerful 347 would be the way to go. I was hoping to only use a 100-150 which would bring me to 600+ rwhp. I didn't want to get too big on the stroke.

I have a feeling that I will be rocking a HSW kit seeing as you guys are close and have heard some great things and most likely Mikey over at Rapid will help with the tune!!
