Default Nitrous and stall RPM

Whatsup everyone. I just wanted to know what size stall everyone is running with 150 shots and larger. I'm looking to get a vig 3600 but i don't know if thats too much for 150-200 shots. Anybody have any experience with this? It's for a street car 383, ported & polished stockers, 22x/23x cam, and all the other supporting mods. 12 bolt with 3.91 gears. Shooting for mid 11s on motor low to mid 10s on spray.

I ran a vig 3600 with a 150 shot with heads and cam 346. That was the max. It would blow through the converter with anything more. It was just about the same as a Yank PT4000.

so if it would have stalled to 3600 would you have been fine with a 150 or 200? what gears were you running?

I don't remember the brand of the converter, but it's a 10", and made to handle nitrous.
As far as stalling at said rpm? I don't know, I don't have a transbrake.
I run 4.10 gear on the stock 10 bolt...knock on wood.

4K fuddle racing verter..

Last year I had it activate at 3700 RPM and netted the 1.45 60'. It did not seem to blow thru the verter and it hit hard off the line. I dont not know what it flashed to as I was busy holding on and looking straght. I upgraded the verter when I added the spray, so I am sure John made it right.

This year, I am lowering to start activation at 3500 and uping to a 200 shot. If all is good I may keep going down at 100 RPM at a time and see what happends.

Experiance on the drag strip. Don't know of another shop with as much track time as the RevX team....and getting TC's down is a science in drag racing....How does someone that can only run 11's know anything about TC's?

That pic in your link has a freakin dragster on it.. How is that even comparable to our cars?

Is there some article on verters you want us to read on the site or what?

We run 2 F-bodies & A C5 throughout the Eastern US also. If you do a Google search on Rev Xtreme Drag Race you will see tons of articles. The point is we have local, regional, divisional, National, and World championships under our belt (not our customers, each of us on the Rev Xtreme team) and we did not accomplish this without knowing tourque convertors. Proof of cred, nothing else.

Lets see some of your credentials.

Ok.. Next time I will read your mind.

Never even wanted any cradentials (sp)... You post up a link that has nothing to do with the guys question. Hell, I could have done that.

Since you have so much knowledge to share, why dont you answer this guys questions then...

A Nitrous convertor is a total different build then a standard NA stall as some of the post mention "blowing right through it". It can have a 3200-3600 stall, but needs to be tighter & a multi disk set-up. My post should have been clearer, I was suggesting he call (mind read again) in a indirect way. Guess I was wrong in the approach. We don't sell off-the-shelf, but build each one for the customers specific setup & use. Cam grind, where the power comes in, NA, FI, Spray....are all factors in the correct build. We give advice free all the time & share our knowledge even if not doing business with us.

Hope that helps.

No doubt... I was thinking about going with a lower stall due to the N20 I added. But I tried it at the track, I like the way this 4K stall hits out of the hole on just a 100 shot and I dont think it flashes too high. I cant wait to hit it with a 200 shot and hoping for a 1.3X 60' and a 9 sec pass..

On the street, its a different story though from a hwy speed.

From what I know about my verter. I sent it back to John a year or so ago as I told him I was going to start running the juice on the car. So, he upgraded it for a N20 verter (dont know whats involved with that) and we kept the STR at a 2.4. I dont know how effecient it is though. It does seem that it has gotten a little loser since I installed it though. But, I am not a picky person as I dont DD my car.
