Well here's another one you can add to the list that I know is growing that arent happy. As we backed the car out of your shop it stalled and you laughed saying Tim didnt know how to drive .

I had severe driveability issues right after I left your shop and all attempts to contact you were ignored for days.....I called, Tim called (several times and left messages), Sent emails and PM's. Only until several PM's to your g/f Ashley did I get a response from her who just kept relaying messages rather then you yourself calling. I ended up thankfully finding some really nice tuners who helped me get the car so it was at least driveable shortly after you had it and through them we found out all the things that were done incorrectly such as the injector pulse rate and duty cycle. The knock that you said I had was actually from something you had done....too much fuel and that is all fixed now. I basically just wasted $400+ on a tune that was worthless

Damn...that's like Deja Vu', or whatever they call it, with my car.

My story...
In a package deal of LS1 items, I acquired my own HPTuners program. My intent with it was to be able to quickly modify shift points while I was running in an Index class racing series, which would alter my ET's as needed.

A few weeks after this time my car developed a sticking idle, which arose from nowhere. With me growing impatient from having no luck whatsoever contacting PSI/GrannySShifting, I actually asked another (well respected, but not a sponsor) tuner to look at my tune, which he graciously did. His exact words were...

this one will be tough,
the injector table has been murdered,
that causes other issues like hard starting when used for fuel tuning as it is.
If this car were here, I'd retune the whole thing
I also learned that even though my A4 car has a 3600 stall, and a 112lsa camshaft, there were absolutely no changes made to any transmission parameters. The car literally "slid" into each gear change and took as much as 500 rpm's to actually complete a WOT shift. The WOT shift rpm was altered, but since he had the wrong figures typed into my tire height, the WOT MPH settings didn't allow the car to shift until just under 7000 rpm's.

Before I found out my tune was all whacked out, I actually sent a good friend to PSI for idle tuning help on his big cammed Z06. Evidently, he "murdered" his tune too because it took many phone calls, text messages, datalogs and reflashes for me to get his car in check as well.

Flamin' Bird: I am glad you found another tuner who is knowledgeable tuning and able to get your car right.

Thankfully, I've also hooked up with a very knowledgeable, easy to get ahold of tuner who advises me and goes out of his way to help me, even though it's someone else's mess that he's been cleaning up.

I must admit the car did run well before, as far as quarter mile passes were concerned. BUT...My car is an absolute joy to drive now, whether it be to the store, for a cruise, or down the quarter mile. It shifts like it should, starts like it should, idles like it should, and finally runs like it should....all the time.

Just for laughs, I did a tune compare from the old PSI tune, to the present tune. HPTuners users will know that any changes when compared show up as a GREEN highlighted parameter, and I am amazed at how many things are different between the two. Pretty much everything but the screen itself is GREEN, LOL

I just look at it as a $600 lesson I learned...

That's ashame that you had such troubles Rel3rd and that others are having the same exact problems. My tuners couldnt believe the mess of a tune that Jeff had done and were pretty perplexed at why he would do such things. My b/f Tim reminded me of a comment Jeff made when we were last at his shop. We asked how he learned to tune and he told us that when Jason bought LS1 Edit, neither of them knew how to use it. Jason told jeff to just "figure it out". So Jeff said he started playing with the program on some of the F-body Central folks cars, messing with mostly just the fuel and timing tables until some of the horsepower numbers started to go up. He was very adamant that adding more fuel was the right ticket. That was his answer to it all. never once did he say anything about the duty cycle of the injectors or anything else.

Jason was tuning with LS1 Edit long before Jeff got there.

I hear ya Larry... funny how many of someones "tunes" I've fixed, but yet I never knew what I was doing eh... I've kept quiet about all the people who came to me, and I won't air out laundry now... but I find it all quite humerous after how bad I was ridiculed and treated like I didn't know ****... what goes around comes around...

hearing all this sure makes me glad he "returned" bretts tune after psi dyno day last year, no problems with the other stuff done (shifter n raptor).

i was gonna have psi do my heads/cam but now i think i'll stick with fbc or gbr.... if they will work on my slow

it is sad to see things go downhill so quickly with that shop, it seems like it was a good foundation to build on and grow if it were run right as a business and not as a hobby shop.

hearing about the lift incident would make me pull my car out if it were there and save myself the worry.

looks like jason's got it down, putting some $$$ out there growing things and it shows nicely.

I had PSI do some work on my car, well Wayne and Shiz actually did the work, but Jeff did the tuning. Another reputable tuner (dont wanna mention names) was curious and looked at the tune afterwards. He said the tune was pretty much dead on, just made one small change. He said the cam Jeff chose made good power and he did a good job. I'm happy with how it runs.
