Question Oil darkening after spraying

Seems like since I've started spraying, my oil becomes dark very quickly... Has anyone else ran into this? Is it normal? Changed the oil twice in the past 1.5 months... 100 shot dry BTW

is the car tuned? if it is WAY rich it could affect the oil.

Also, I have heard that nitrous can burn some of the carbon off the walls of motor and wtuff like that, so that would also be a factor!

Yeah, the car is tuned. AFR was 12.2 on 75 shot... but it was goin lean on the 100 shot, so I moved the nozzles, so it might be quite richer now. I've got an LC-1 Wideband, just need to get it installed so I can see exactly what it's doin now. Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah, I've also heard it cleans it out...

well I wouldn't spray it till you get the wideband in to see whats going on.

Question Idea...

Hey guys, when I change my nozzle placement, I originally had the dual nozzles in the sides of the air lid, but since having moved them to the intake tube.... I forgot to seal the holes, and it's pretty dusty/dirty here in Texas... Would that possibly cause this?

If dirt is intering the motor yes it could darkin it. Running rich could as well. So can buring the oil from building heat. If you are not running rich you may want to go to a different oil.

Default Alright...

I got my LC-1 wideband installed tonight, and ran around seeing what it was doing. Anyway, at idle, the A/F jumps around 11.5-12.5 or so. I thought I read somewhere that at idle the widebands aren't as accurate as they are WOT or part throttle. At WOT it's running around 11.2-12.0. Seems kinda rich to me. Haven't got a chance to see what it does on the spray. I'll try the spray out later this week and let you guys know what it's runnin. Just thought I would let you guys know... Well, since having the LC-1 installed, I got to test out the nitrous last night, and it's not running too rich on the spray. About 11.5-12.0 on a 100 shot. I've been using Mobil 1 0W-40. I spoke to my tuner and he said it's common with nitrous, and causing blow by. Can someone elaborate on what exactly is going on? Before I had Mobil 1 5-30 and it did the same thing. Should I do a leakdown test or somethin? Catch Can?

my lm-1 shows 14.6 on idle, cruise , ect.

my dynojet wideband show at first idle (and i mean right when you start it) will be around 14.5-15.0, but if it idle's long it will just peg out at 18. wot on motor runs around 12.8 and on the 100 shot is about 11.5-11.8.

if you have an exhaust leak near the sensor it can give you skewed results at low air speeds
