Default COOLING your Nitrous Bottles

I am in South Florida and in my garage WITHOUT any sun, I can be at 900 psi. I saw another thread somewhere (I think Corvette Forum) anyway the guy wanted to know how to cool the bottle as his was getting too hot with the heat on the drag strip.
I have one of these bad boys for the plastic LSX intake manifold. It's a fire resistant bag that uses very large FROZEN gel packs and velcro straps to hold it in place. For those in the Nitrous Know, any chance a product like this would help to regulate bottle temps/pressure for those of us in the very warm ares of the country?

So then my $50.00 system (what I paid) will work? Good to know that I was able to save $400.00, thank you.

I think Ice would work fine if the pressure gets too high you can always purge

I figured to wire a heater AND use the water/fire resistant gel bag shown above. Kinda the best of both worlds and saving quite a few dollars.
I'm a newbie and might be talking out of my rear most orifice, but hey it's a thought that might actually work.

in the florida sun, i always remove my bottle.
one day last summer i did not.
got in 1-2am, went out at only 11am to get the bottle out of the car and the gauge was pegged already!
black leather interior, but tinted windows.
heat is a mother!

So i had an idea to auto purge when pressure gets above a setpoint,
may lose a little gas, but not the whole bottle + the burst disc...
Its more likely just wiring into your existing purge and an additional pressure transducer set to 2k psi...

I was actually going to order this, and was told that it was currently unavailable and that NX was in the process of redesigning it to make it better.. but that was a few months ago.

In my experience purging doesn't help a heat soaked bottle for more than a couple seconds. It will bump the pressure on it's own again.

I can't tell you how many times down in Texas I had to put ice packs around a bottle to get it to cool down. Now up here in AK, I've never seen more than 700 psi from ambient air temp
