I'd go progressive, a 250 shot hooking at the line, that poor 10 is a goner, guaranteed. From a roll, I can see that working, but I'd still run progressive, cuts down on the shock that slaughters these parts.

Mine survived 1.45 60's still have it in the car. I think you will be fine on the street anyway. You probally never get enough traction to hurt the rear end.

You guys have me confused now. Let's assume I am only planning high way pulls 3rd gear 70mph, 4th at 80mph. How about a 2 stage 200 shot? I could spray 100 at 3k rpm and another at 5k. For the 10 bolt sake this would be a safer approach no?

My Cam Only 6 speed on a 200 shot blew the 10 bolt on a 1.8 leave, held up for a few passes, i'm not even wasting my time, straight to a 9 inch....

If you have a 6 speed I would be careful. My car is a th350 and is the softest launching 1.45 60 I have ever seen. I got lucky on the converter. I have seen alot of 6 speed cars tear up the 10 bolt stock.

I didn't read through all the posts, but I have a 408 putting over 500 to the wheels on motor spraying a 200 shot on a stock 10 bolt. I have a spec 3+ clutch that is starting to slip, and a tranny that is going out but my stock 10 bolt is the only thing staying together.

I cant image that 10-bolt lasting much longer.

Default M6 + Traction = Broken 10 Bolt

Now I have a 9in.

granted im a M6 but still your throwing a shitload of power at the pathetic 10 bolt. Best way to put it though, it may last you a year, it may come apart the first time you spray it. I wouldnt want to do any highway punches with that much power on the ticking time bomb called the 7.5 10 bolt. Just imagine if it locked up on you at 120mph or something.....That 250 shot will hit that drivetrain hard.

Yeah, what he said.

I'm on my 5th set of ring and pinion gears (these are Micronited - spelling - 3:73s) if they break after I install the STS, then I too will be going down the $3k 9 inch path...

Sell the 10-bolt now before it needs new parts and get some cash towards the new rear end.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure GM Muscle has 2.73 gears also, and those are the strogest 10 bolts to have. I have a few friends in the 10's with stock 2.73 10 bolts.

I have 3.42 gears. I am leanning towards doing a progressive set up and
spray the car at highway speeds, 80 ro so. Really just looking to have some fun doing rolls with some bikes. I figure a 200 shot should handle most bikes agree?

You should get most 600s and possible 750s maybe. Depends on on how new the bike is, but just be careful. I would say get the rear sooner than later. i've been through 2 10 bolts and finally said screw it. It is such a relief to know that my S60 most likely will not break anytime soon

My 12 bolt with 4.30 gears and a spool blew apart this past weekend on a 100 shot launching at 6,000 rpm . It lasted about 10 hard 1.45 60ft.'s before it blew the gears apart. So your 10 bolt does not stand a chance
