Default Why is my MPH so low?

11.837@113.26
1.62 60ft
75 shot
98 Camaro
4L60E
3.42 gears

I've been looking at some similar ET's and it seems like a lot of guys are running higher MPH. Just wondering if my MPH might be abnormally low for the ET.

My '98 was going 11.70-80s @ 116-117 on a 100 shot, similar mods to yours, it had stock 3.23 gears in it.

That is very low because you're losing power on the big end of the track. The tune is most likely too conservative. How are you providing enrichment? and are you pulling any timing?

Make sure you're bottle wasn't low and that it's mounted in the proper direction/position first. Check your AFR and lean out the enrichment if you are still going slow.
With just a 75hp shot I wouldn't want to see any richer than 12.5:1 AFR.
I also wouldn't pull more than 2* timing if that.

bottle pressure could have been really low which would explain this.Wouldn't be a zex kit by chance?

Fuel enrichment is coming in through the fuel jet. No additional tuning was done via the ECM. It was averaging around 11.8 a/f on the dyno and on the track. Since these runs I have replaced the n2o nozzle. The one I was using was the original fogger nozzle and after reading about it it seemed to be garbage. I replaced it with the stainless steel soft plume fogger nozzle which is better, but I'll probably still be going with a bigger nozzle soon. I was not pulling any timing on the 75 shot, although I will be pulling 2 degrees timing out off of my n/a tune because it is setup to run a few degrees advanced. I test it with this new nozzle and try a smaller fuel jet if it's still looking too lean.

Bottle pressure always 900+. It's a NOS bottle with NOS Cheater fuel and N2O solenoids and an original fogger nozzle activated off an MSD window switch and a WOT microswitch on the t/b. I have since replaced the fogger nozzle with the newer stainless steel softplume nozzle which seems to work better, at least with the 150 shot. For those with excel I've attached a spreadsheet of all the runs with the car. You can see where I'm not picking anything up with the 150 shot.

Oh, as far as bottle orientation, and I've been weary about this, it stands almost straight up. It's in the spare tire well mounted leaning slightly forward against the wheel well with the nitrous output facing the front of the car. I've thought about fabbing something up so that I can lie it down in there but the people I have talked to say it's ok the way it is.

I've attached a txt file with my funs on it. If you open it up with Wordpad and make sure Format>Word Wrap is unchecked then it should be easy to read.

Do you think the converter is letting go? I had a problem similar to that with a buddy of mines nova that ran ok on motor but it would start to slip on the big end on the bottle and give crappy times on the bottle. Changed the converter and we blew the motor on the bottle and it coasted to a 10.21 at 98mph.

I don't think so because I had converter locked up on the dyno running a 150 shot and it wasn't slipping.
