Italian Greyhound puppy, 1 male born on 2/13. AKC registered pure bred parents, both of which have excellent child friendly temperments. If you're not familiar with IG's, they are lean and muscular just like regular greyhounds, but are ~15" tall. The father weighs in at 15 pounds, while the mother is about 11 pounds. Available April 10. They will have had their dew claws removed and will be current on their shots, with documentation of everything. I will not require spay/neuter. These would make a nice Easter present! You can see them by appt. in Mansfield, TX. $800/each, $200 deposit.

I kennel train my dogs, which makes them content to be out of sight and out of trouble when I need them to be. It also helps them to become housebroken much faster because their instincts prevent them from making a mess of their sleeping place.
To train the puppies, take them out after they eat or drink everytime, and every two hours. Use a distintive word or phrase they can identify with going out like "hurry up", make them stay out until they go, and praise/reward them when they do it right.
For what little trouble mine were to train, I've forgotten about it all because they are a blast to have around the house.

Thanks for the bumps guys.
I thought I'd also mention that greyhounds are hypoallergenic, so many people with pet allergies are able to have greyhounds without any problems. They also are exceptionally quiet unless you train them otherwise, so they're not yappers.
I trained my male to defend my wife, so she can tell him to "Watch him!" and he'll take on the total guarddog attitude, the she'll say "good boy" and he turns back into the perfect companion instantly. All this from not even a 2 year old and no formal or educated training. Very smart dogs!
