Thats about the only way you would be able to have one shipped. If you can find someone who lives local i dont think you need to use a ffl dealer but in ca you have to with hand guns.
good luck

well, if you are feeling saucy you can take the lower assembly and ship that in one box, and then take the slide, spring, and pin and ship that in another. then you're legal begal.....

lol, i'm from kentucky. as bad as it sounds, i could ship an M16 across the state fully assembled with a loaded clip and one in the chamber with no questions asked.

if i were worried about shipping a pistol i would put the upper in a box disassembled and the lower in a different box. that way there is not a working firearm being shipped. just hand write a bill of sale and put that in there to cover your self. i've done it a number of times.

think about it, you can go to a local gun show and buy anything you want within 5 minutes. just get a faxed copy of each other's drivers license and go with it.

Lol @ above posted comments (with exception of the seller). Ya, why be legal after posting in a public forum that anyone, including the ATF, can read? A free TTT for ya. Wise up ppl, not worth the hassle, do it right or don't do it at all.

Please consult my sig if any doubt remains.

Plus if you bought the gun its registered under your name. Now why would you want to sell it to Joe Somebody and then they never transfer it over to their own name. That would just be crazy. Here in KY it takes about 10 mins or less for the dealer to run your credentials and if your clean your ready to take ownership of your firearm.

Off topic: There is no waiting period on KY? Even at the gun show, when I buy a hand gun, I have to complete the paperwork through a licensed firearms dealer (more $$), and I can't see my hand gun for 10 days due to the waiting period in CA.

Here is some info:

Yes the 10 day rule sucks here, i believe its for rifles as well as handguns. Next thing you know there will be a 10 day rule for ammo too.
