FS: Nikon Lenses (24, 35, 55, 105 Primes) & 2 Zooms (18-55 & 55-200)
Hey all. I am selling the following Nikon Nikkor lenses. All prices are OBO.
Manual Focus Prime Lenses. EX or EX+ condition! Razor sharp images! Snappy aperture. No oil on blades! Almost no wear marks on the lenses, though the caps are somewhat worn:
24 mm 2.8 - $200 ($225-$238 @ KEH)
35 mm 2.0 - $200 ($209 @ B&H)
55 mm Micro 2.8 - $200 ($235-$254 @ KEH)
105 mm 2.5 - $200 ($235-$325 @ KEH)
Auto Focus Zoom Lenses. EX condition, though they could use interior cleaning due to visible dust particles:
18-55 mm 3.5-5.6 - $100 ($109 - $149 @ KEH)
55-200 mm 4-5.6 - $100 ($109 - $144 @ KEH)

They should work fine on the D40. The thing is, you must use it in Manual mode. Manual shutter and manual aperture settings. You obviously have to manual focus as that's what type of lenses they are, and your metering won't be perfect. To me, it's not a big deal. They still take amazing photos Much better than the zoom lenses.

The ones with single numbers listed are manual focus, non zoom lenses. The only zoom I have listed is the auto focus 18-55 which is not what you need. The 105 would work well, depending how far away in the stands you are. I recommend what I recently purchased, the 70-300 VR. That'd be perfect for your application and will run you approx $450-$550 new:

This lens is huge and works incredibly well. With the VR on, you do drain batteries quick. Because of this I purchased a Jenis Vertical Battery Grip for $75. It holds 2 batteries and has a vertical shutter release button.
