Rockford Fosgate P400.2 amp (and a Kenwood)
This was an "open box special" at a local store. I bought it and have decided not to use it. It looks mint, I don't even see where it was ever bolted down to anything. Anyway, I'm selling to put more cash in the "finish the race car budget". Pics on request.
$175 + freight (OBO).

I also have a 4 channel Kenwood amp (25 x 4, bridgeable to 70 x 2 with high and low pass crossovers and speaker/rca inputs) that came out of my project car. It's a bit worn looking (scratches and such), but it worked when it was removed. If you need a decent little "beater amp" for tunes and you don't want to scratch up something nice, this is what you need.

It should work fine. Too much power rarely kills speakers, it's often too little power that causes things to melt down (from clipping).
Which one do you have? I see a dual voice coil with two 4 ohm coils and a dual voice coil with dual 2 ohm coils.

Either way, Alpine gives the following specs:
Power Handling
Power Handling Capacity (RMS): 500W
Power Handling Capacity (Peak): 1500W
This amp will do 200x2 into 2 ohms (400 total) which will be fine with that sub. Or it will do 100 x 2 into 4 ohms if you have the dual 4 ohm sub. That's likely to still be sufficient to drive that sub to signifigant volume levels. Either way, I suspect you'll be just fine.
Hopefully you have the dual 2 ohm version, it would be ideal for this amp and the dual 4 ohm will be still be very good with it, but if I were buying the sub to match the amp, I'd buy the dual 2 ohm version.

I just realized that this thread was still here. I put this amp on a shelf and I never sold it. So the Rockford is still for sale if anybody needs one.

I also have a 4 gauge wiring kit (complete) with the required 80 amp fuses (4) that I'd include for $50. It's still sealed in the package, I've never opened it but I bought it for this amp.

$170 for the amp and installation kit.
If someone picks it up locally in Columbus, OH I'll throw in a 3rd gen (82-92) dual 10" sub box (if it doesn't sell on its own before the amp sells). I have one that had speakers mounted in it, but was never actually installed in the car and it needs a new home too.
