Hey guys I just got my clutch done, when I got it back it wouldn't go into first gear. So I go back and tell them that and, the guy got into the car and put it in first gear with no problems. So I thought, ok its fine. I was getting on the freeway and it would not go into 3rd without me shoving it in there, same thing with fourth. When it's in gear I can move it side to side about 2inches. Now I know thats not right!!!!. This is also with all the gears. It's to damn sloppy. When I brought it to the palce it was not like that at all it was tight in all gears. Sorry for this being to long but I just wanted to get an idea if anyone had one, on whats going on so I can go there with some knowledge on what to expect when I get there. Oh yah one more thing, when its in neutral I can move it side to side and it will get stuck so I can only use 3rd to start out, but after I mess around with it, it goes back to normal. once again Im sorry for this being so long

I would suspect that the clutch hydraulics need to be re-bled. Did the shop replace the clutch slave cylinder, or disconnect the hyrdaulics? FWIW, the clutch hydraulics can be a real bitch to get fully bled.

The clutch works great!!! its the shifter thats screwed up now. The hydraulics dont have anything to do with that, do they?

There's really not much they could have done to the shifter, unless the nylon cup is missing or broken or something. The clutch pedal might feel fine but if there is air in the line it wont disengage all the way and make it very difficult to shift. The

I don't think you should have that much movement in the shifter. Pull the boot and see if they bolted the thing back on properly.

Like Chris said, air in the hydraulics can cause poor shifting by not allowing full disengagement of the clutch. Take the shifter apart and check the plastic sleeve. They commonly crack and fall apart with age, causing weird shifter movement.
