Sounds good Brandon. How do you like the QP rearend? What brand of gears did you go with? I'm getting ready to order my new narrowed housing/axles and setup the new 4.30's.

0-120 mph in 8 seconds? What is your setup? Looks like its time to recalibrate the speedometer.

Not yet. I pick up the block from the machine shop today or tomorrow. I need to do a few things to the block and then return it for the final hone and balancing the rotating assembly. I should be assembling the shortblock in the next 2-3 weeks but I'm still undecided about the cam selection.

I like the QP with my 4.30's could care less for the locker but it's really not that bad compared to worrying if I was going to break the 10 bolt. Are you going to go with a spool this time around?

Yes, full spool, 35 spline axles and narrowed 6". Will also be using a 15x10 wheel with a nice deep lip.

The locker takes some getting used to. It sure turns heads in parking lots while going around corners lol.... pop, pop, pop, pop, pop......

Something like this: 240/250, .620/620 on a 115lsa. Eventually it will have a single plane intake manifold conversion so I want it to make power to 7000and still work well with nitrous.

Mike
thats a pretty big cam. you should have no problem making power at 7000 with that.

I'd like the car to run 10.50 - 10.70 on the motor. If I ever get back to work and start making money again I'll add some nitrous and shoot for high 9's, with the 6sp of course.

I didn't have the funds for tubs this year since the engine blew and I wanted to get a few other things wrapped up with the car first. I think I can squeeze a 28-10.50-15 tire under there without the mini-tubs. If so, that should be plenty of tire for 9's.

How's your ride coming along? I thought you were doing a cam swap in that thing?

That's just some specs I'm looking at and the final cam decision hasn't been made yet. Might be a bit smaller but I'd like to have the big split in duration for the nitrous. I was also looking at a 238/242 .610/.615 114lsa. I think this cam would work better with the plastic intake manifold, but the other cam would work better with a single plane......

Wow!! 9s thats badass bro. How big of a shot you doing?

I'm still thinking about heads and cam now since I have to pay off my car now.. I was doing a new motor but that fell threw. now I think I have piston rings going out. I was racing a Saturn sky turbo last night and all I saw was smoke coming from the tail pipes in there head lights. Don't know if itse just cause there is no tune on it and it's running really rich or if it's burning oil. It was dark out side also.

How much does it cost to tub it?

Wait till a passenger says "I think somethings broke, you might want to get it fixed." Or the guy at the tire shop "I think your breaks are binding or something." Or better yet "Your cars a POS, It cant even turn right!" I dont even try to explain the reason why anymore. They just look at you with a blank expression. My 5yo Daughter Understands why the **** cant an Adult?

Trust me when I say the car is a LONG,,,,, LOOOOOONG ways from running 9's. But everyone should have a goal lol.... Minitub kits only cost about 200.00 or so, but then I want adjustable ride height springs 220.00, plus the cost of installation, renting a plasma cutter to cut everything out etc... it all adds up quick.

Sucks about your car man.... Maybe you blew a head gasket? Is the smoke white or blue? Why do you have to pay off your car all of a sudden?
