You guys just reminded me I need new F#$(*&^$ BELTS!!!!

 

Man this **** gets expensive, don't it? Just when I thought I'd be done spending before this coming racing season, all of a sudden I'm gonna need about $1500 in safety equipment just to be NHRA compliant...

 

better safe then sorry BUT it is a PITA at times! My biggest complaint has always been the belts. every two years weather you need them or not Pretty much the reason I do not get trick belts. about the time you get used to them they need replaced again

 

Yep, aint it a bitch tho. First you spend all this money to make your car go fast enough to be able to kill yourself. And then you gotta spend all this extra money to prevent it.

If it makes you feel any better Jason, I have to buy 2 complete fire suits for the Pony Express, plus some shoes, nomex beleclavas (sp) and a helmet for my son. (in addition to the cage, 5 pt harnesses, metal valve stems & fire extinguisher)

A seat and belts = what time? 11.5 or faster? sorry missed that one.

Really? Well we'll see what those guys out at Pacific do if I manage to squeeze off an 11.9x... I can imagine at least one of those old guys having a coronary if I tell them they're wrong, I don't need that stuff until I hit 11.50.

It looks like I will be getting a cage and such before opening day, so I won't get kicked off. I still don't like rule #8 though, but I do like the idea of backup runs.

 

I will still have to put a bar in then. Oh well. It will be worth it.
