Default Turbo Tech T-76 Installation Step by Step

I figured I would document my Turbo Tech T-76 installation.

So Here goes:

Step 1: Buy the TTi kit, I would always recomend buying a New kit straight from George. He is the man. But I chose the Alternate route, and picked up an "ok" used kit. This kit is the upgraded turbo, w/3" down pipe. The only drawback to "used" is getting other people's crap parts ocationally. The cross over pipe on this kits was crap. Ordered a new one from our local freindly Turbo Tech. The Turbo has just been rebuilt and everything else looks good.

Step Two:
Pull your **** apart! I am doing a Cam, rod bolts, and valve springs/retainers. If I can get a good deal I'll do rods and pistons, but its not looking good. Its nice having the 6.0L, it already has 9.4:1 CR stock and the good heads. The Cam going in is a custom Cam Motion. Specs are 226*/222* @.050, .580"/.560" lift, 115 lsa. Springs are Patriot Performance Dual valve springs, Titanium retainers, seals, seats.

Well thats where I am at tonight. More to come!

It is about time you post a documentation thread on one of your projects.
Let me know if you need any help.

Nice thread! I've been wanting to see a turbo LS1 run. Looks like this is the year....

Interesting cam. And I want details about how much fun it is to make it all fit.

Both him and Brian have turbos now. I can't wait to see them run.

Default Day Two: Engine Mods

Alright, since I got the engine out last night, today's plan was to change out the valve train. The valve train is going to consist of Patriot Performance dual valve springs, titanium retainers, 10* locks, new seats, and seals. I tell ya, after compairing the stock stuff to the new stuff, there is quite a difference.

The tools of today are:
More PerformanceValve spring tool
8mm 1/4" drive
Magnetic Stick
3/8" ratchet
1/2" deep well for pushing the new seal on
channel locks for pulling the old seals off

Here are this morning's pictures.

All Done with the Springs.

#1-Turbo LS1's are extremely fun...
#2-How much fun is it to make it all fit? Depends on your definition of fun...
#3-Turbo LS1's are extremely fun...
#4-As far as that cam goes, he's got a little bigger turbo and little more displacement than I do, and that is very similar to the cam I've got from Cam Motion also...his cam specs are just a little bigger all the way around...they seem to work tho...idles smooth, and pulls hard!
#5-Turbo LS1's are extremely fun...

I'm starting to get the impression that you like the new g-rating of your car Brian!

I can't wait for the 1st CCC race @ B-town so I can see these 2 hair dryer powered LS1s.

Hey Ryan,

Ever consider changing all those 3-bolt flanges to V-band clamp style? Much easier to deal with and seals up better. Makes pulling the downpipe off a snap for when you toast that tranny. Nothing like thinking ahead right.

Just a thought.....

LOL,, I'm saying that unless the tranny's already been blessed by a certain tranny guy, he might want to make it easier to pull out when the time comes.
