Cool For anyone interested.

The next street legal drags @ Woodburn will be on the 27th.
I am planning to be there. I am looking forward to trying my luck @ a new track. I have heard from many people that the track there is prepped way better than PIR, and I am hoping to whack a few tenths off my previous best time.
Hope to see some of you there.

I'm 99.99999% I will be there I think Woodburn is alot nicer track than PIR, if you get there when the gates open usually you can get lots of runs in. It generally isn't as crowded either as PIR is the more trendy place to go.(plus PIR stays open much later)

Hope to see you there, I need to break into the 12's, these 13.01's are embarrassing.

Think positive we are getting near summer then it never rains, in fact I don't remember a May this wet...

Just go down I-5 and take the Woodburn exit where the big ford dealership is ( I think its the same as the outlet malls) take a right off the exit and then follow the signs can't miss it.

Nuff said.

We need to set up an Oregon/Washington drag day. Or two actually. Have one up here and one down there.

My personal best in my '04 GTO is 13.67 @ 103.??mph. That was my first time out, ever, at PIR. You can find directions to the track @ www.woodburndragstrip.com. The gates open @ 3pm, and racing goes 'til dusk. Man, I hope this one doesn't get rained out!
You will need a helmet and a Drive shaft loop, if you run under 14sec., but I've heard that you can get away without the loop if you run street tires. I don't know if that's true or not. I don't know much but what others have told me about the track.
If everyone that's talking about going goes it should be a blast!

Happy motoring,

Maximental

I don't think vettes need driveshaft loops? (If so where would you install?) Also Woodburn has never checked for a driveshaft loop on any of my cars even when dialed in a 12.5. that is not to say they won't but they never have in my experience. They get REALLY strict when you go under 12 (I guess 11.5 now) but they will let you keep running as long as you sand bag it.

Default The helmet thing....

I think they will probably be strict on the helmet thing.
If you can find a helmet that was snell approved after 1990, you can use it. Snell rating = 90 or better.
I use my motorcycle helmet rated M95, without the face shield. If they let you pass tech. without one, they will probably ask you to wear one if and when you run under 14.0. Hopefully this will be a problem. , as you should be able to run the numbers.
Can't you find a helmet to borrow from someone? I'd hate to have you not show up, or have to quit, or go home over this issue. My older helmet wouldn't pass, or I would let you borrow it. Sorry. You could find a new one at a motorcycle shop for relatively cheap, (maybe $80 or less,) or maybe a garage sale or something this weekend. Just be sure about the condition of the helmet, and snell rating. Where there's a will, there's a way.
I'm starting to look forward to this, there are 3 or 4 guys from another forum thinkin' they're gonna be there too. This could be a REALLY fun event.

Happy Motoring,

Maximental

except on this forum

so hopefully someone will let me borrow a helmet..otherwise i'd rather not waste time in just running once.

Max is right, I'm going to have to find one to borrow too, I'm waiting to see if the GP on sponser section is a go or not and will pick up a red one.

They will not let you run more than one 13 sec pass without a helmet Other than that I think your car will be fine nothing else needed. Were going to have to race, they will let us line up.

Should be fun!!

I guess you could sand bag it and just go for fun and eighth mile times....Practice your launch which I find is the hardest part of a race... well now its the 1-2 shift spin....

I will be leaving for the dunes with the sand rail that day, but want to make a SLD day or two at Woodburn this summer. I just race for fun and don't want to tear things up. It's a pretty cheap thrill until you break something. Keep your SLD plans posted and hope to see some of you there this season. Here's the web addy....
