Sorry dude, Ex Cali copper here, no clue about SD..........you should be able to find the info somewhere if you look under SD Vehicle Code laws or similar.......good luck.

For what it is worth though, almost all the States require 2 plates, one front & one rear.....I think Texas is trying to get the front plate law removed from the books but I don't personally know of any other States where you don't have to have both.
