Default Amsoil's new Ea Oil Filters!

After coming out with the new Ea Air Filters, Amsoil now has a brand new Oil Filter on the market as well. Using their synthetic "nanofiber" technology, the strands in the filter media are less than one micron in size, so it'll be the best filtering oil filter on the market.

Here's a link to more info:

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eao.aspx

These filters are more expensive than standard ones, retailing for around $15 or so. This is because of the extraordinarily long drain interval (25k miles or 1 year). Couple this with some Amsoil 5w40 Euro, and you're changing your oil once a year.

And of course, I'll be doing my standard deals on the filter... so if any of you are interested, do let me know!

Damn hehe only thing I like about the K&N filters now is that cheezy 1" nut they add to the bottom to make it really easy to get off.

Unfortunately not yet... right now its just the most popular auto and light truck applications, and some diesels. They're adding more applications though, so hopefully bikes will be coming up quick since Amsoil's a big sponsor for motorcycle/snowmobile/motorboat racing.

Just need a little muscle, rook! Besides, that's why I have one of those cheap $0.99 "black cap" filter wrenches that fit on the bottom of the oil filters... works just like the K&N filters, just need a 3/8" ratchet.

Heh... that Volvo must have a big oil filter. My cost is a good $1.50 more than the F-body filter! Added to an oil order, I can get one for you for an additional $15.

Yep, since the SDF64 (Silverado) filter is now listed as the EaO46. However, not sure if a long filter is really necessary in these since the whole reason (at least my understanding) of having the longer filter was to extend filter life due to more filter media... but with a 1 year/25k mile interval on these filters, I think the stock F-body would work just fine for us.

Yep, for the F-body filter it'd be $15 per filter on top of any oil order.

More media = longer life, but it also = cleaner oil. If you think about it, the oil pump is going to be moving x gal of oil per minute, at x psi. So if x oil is exposed to more filter media it should be cleaner. At least that is how I think about it.
