Default Carr Chevrolet wants 100K for C6 Z06

MY GOD, so they have a Z06 in the show room at Carr chevrolet (I was there checking out a GTO Silver very nice, although its alot more subtle in person than I thought it would be, maybe they should have made it an FRC style or something.

Anyway 29,000 dealer markup with 550 destination fee 100K no freaken joke. Man I need to get in the car business!!!

Welcome to the great northwest. The price tag does not surprise me in the least. I would tell them I could buy an airline ticket to Detroit, buy the car, and drive it back for less than that.

Well said!

That's plain ridiculous. It won't sell. If it does I'm calling BJ Shea and Tom Leykis and having them track down the idiot who paid 100K for a domestic chevy for heavens sake. WHERE'S ERIC??

They won't sell it at that price... unless someone with way too much money decides they can't wait and HAVE to have it. Unless the person is a complete idiot dealerships hardly ever sell anything at second sticker. I'm sure Sound Ford still has their 05 Black Ford GT sitting on their showroom floor like it was there 4-5 months ago. and long before that. And just like the 2003 F360 Spyder F1 they have that they BOUGHT for 215,000 ( idiots) at an auction MSRP is $175,000 on a new one, and that was there when I worked there almost a year and a half ago.

The price will come down............people are just willing to pay that price to say they were one of the first few to own one.

They are really nice cars..........and GMC did a great job of designing them with affordablility in mind, its people that drive up the price. The 2001 Z06 was the same way.........just no where near that price.

I just got back from the Auto show in Seattle and I spoke with a representative from Chevy. She said that Chevy has a contract with a company for 2 years for carbon fiber..........and a 5 year contract with different company for something else (forgot what it was)! Point is........Chevy plans on putting out at least 6000 units per year and keep the cost down. So those of us who can't afford one now should be able to afford one in a couple of years after the hype has calmed down. So production just needs to catch up with demand to put that fire out..........and Chevy will continue to produce the new Z for at least 5 more years (according to the rep).

Didn't Jay Leno pay $250k to be the first guy on the block with a Viper? What do those go for now, maybe $35k?

I'm psyched about the C6 Z06 becuase I'm a cheap *** and I'm going to buy that old C5 Z06 load of bolts and save lotsa money...er, for my kid's college or wife's manicure or something important.

The only thing I go to the dealer for is to take a **** late at night after the bars close. I think it's unfortunate that dealers actively attempt to rip off virtually every customer, and anyone naive or unknowledgable about cars is an easy victim for them, which is probably 90% of their customers.
