I'm sick of jumping the different threads to see what happened out there today, so I'm gonna start this one. Hopefully you all post in here and I can be lazy again. Thanks,

Brian

Well, I was all set to do my first 10.xx pass. They had just sprayed the track, one set of cars went down, I did a nice burn out, and could feel a nice run coming. So, I bring the rpms upto about 5600 and do a clutch dump from hell. Then breakage, and not much movement, then rolled to a stop, and tow ensued. Well I am hoping it's a broke output shaft, and I just happen to have a hardened one sitting in my garage, or it could be the trans mainshaft or driveline. Mark (WaHusker) was nice enough to trailer my car home for me, and I got to drive his beast. Don't tell him, but I did a couple 1.4x 60'ers when he wasn't looking on the drive home. Still had a good time though with good people, and know Mark (blk Z06) got a new best. Now I just have to get off my lazy/busy azz and fix it before the next outing, or have Ellis do it for me.

Ok fine, I'll post here too.

My ultra-fast stock C4 ran a blazing 13.80 @ 100.50 mph with a 2.13 60' time. My car is so powerful, it spins my Ziex all-season radials on the launch somethin' fierce.

Hey, that's what my Stock z28 ran when I first got it

Sorry to hear about your car Robert, breaking things is never fun unless you get to drive Mark's car

I'll make you folks that gave this one a miss feel better. I arrived at 8:10, got through the gate at 9:06, made my first run at 12:30, and my second at 3:30. Neither was good, one was terrible. I talked to many Chevy guys while spending long hours in line. Enjoyed that!

Yep, that's how my day went too Jon. BS-ing in line was the highlight of the day!

It was nice talking to all the guys. Mike was there with his Cyclone, Erin with his Slowmaro (his best of the day was 10.5 with a 1.5 60'....WAY off his norm). He told me all about running in the Pro Street class (back to the ET brackets for me). And a Boeing guy had his 06 C6 there. His 1st pass was a 13.2 @ 107 I think. Overall not a good day.

Well, there was all the eye-candy that goes along with a ricer meet.

As for the weather, around noon it was 50*, DA was 250-something, barom was 30.0. I quit looking after that.

Remind me again what the attraction to going is? Spending 95% of the day in line and getting 2 runs?

I understand those of you who are building track cars, but for the average guy like me who hits the track 1-3 times a year, why in God's name would I want to go and spend all day in line?

Yeah, I know the Boeing C6 guy. We were talking about launch techniques this morning. He was stalling and after talking to some folks online he figures he'll just punch it from an idle next run.

Granted I don't go every time, but that was the most cars I have ever seen there. From the stands it actually looked like they were doing a better job overall keeping cars moving through. That and most of the cars that broke did it at the light and not down track so less time lost with clean up. There were just too many cars there. At one point the "import" line(s) to race backed up past the race gas tank. At another point the two lanes for slicks backed up all the way around the curve to where the Jr Dragsters enter the track.

Yeah, you didn't miss anything but a crapload of frustration, Rick. T&Ts are just way too packed these days... I'm not going to the track again until the CCC opener.

The comment from management was that last year at this time they had 120 cars, this year over 300! Next weekend Bremerton will be open too, so PR won't have the 100+ cars from the Peninsula.

If ya have to ask, you may never get it? Drag racing, cars, hot women, bull craping, cars, the sun, cars, an event, cars, beat your best time, cars, a high $$ beer, and then for the cars? I guess maybe a trip to "Spatula City" with the old lady would be more enjoyable.

Sharing a common interest with fellow enthusiast, is probably the most enjoyable part. The success of making a car go faster is also enjoyable. I enjoy that even if it is someone else's car.

Saw it but I can get that a million other places too.....and I don't have to stand in line for it.

It was more a rhetorical question then anything else.

I don't disagree with that, but that can be done at Hooters where I don't have to pay money to sit in line for 3 hours at a time to race my car.......I did mention in my question that it didn't apply to the guys who are there for and are hard core racers.
