Default Rick's Formula > My Formula

Rokko and I did a best of three grudge match tonight... just had to because our cars have been running within a hundredth or two of each other the last few races...

First race...

He redlights with a -.013, I cut a .073 and he beats me to the line.. a 13.117 @ 106.71 to my 13.362 @ 103.03. No idea what happened there, my car opened up the night with a 13.03, and I had been running 13.1x times most of the night.

So we get back to the pits, and decide to give it another go so we can get a clean race. He gets me at the tree, with a .075 to my .146 and he runs a 13.025 @ 107.33 to my 13.137 @ 104.4.

What the hell, let's make it best of three. He cuts a .067 light to my .107, and runs 13.094 @ 105.76... I came up behind with a 13.223 @ 103.83.

So Rick took it... best two out of three, woulda had a clean sweep if he hadn't got the red bulb the first round... So I now officially acknowledge:

Formula > Formula

Dunno what's up with my car, it's all over the board now.... Maybe there was some bad gas in there or something... I ran the trank down to vapors on the way home. I'm gonna try changing the plugs and wires, too it still has the almost 9-year old factory parts on it. Just thinking.. should I need to disable torque management on my car? The car still has the factory program.

Oh, and I cut a .000 reaction time in competition tonight... and still lost. That was right when my car started acting up, I'd ran 13.11, 13.11, 13.12, and was dialed at 13.10, and then for some reason the car runs a 13.279.

Larry DeCamp was sure happy about it, though. If I'd kept running like I had been I woulda nailed him.

Been waiting *all day* for some news about anyone today.
Sorry you didn't get the 'other' Formie but you are improving your tree times.
9 yr old factory parts, no matter how few miles is going to hurt a bit overall. Start there and work your way up, can't hurt

Those were some good races last night guys. I think with a bit of tuning Zeke might take 1 or 2 races from you Rick. Sure fun to watch 2 so closely matched cars go at it.

That was a blast Zeke! And not just because I won. Heck, I'd rather run grudge races all night. Even on the red light race you still shot out infront of me till around the 330 mark. I gotta get a converter. And install the growing pile of parts sitting in my basement.

You still have torque management? That's gonna hurt your times I would think?

That was a fun night. Even though we still get the shaft from the track workers. Or a couple of em at least. Ellis has a good story about that.

I cut an .002 light for a first round bye then on the next round get paired up with Kenny. I gotta admit, Kennys a hell of a racer. He shoot out of the hole and I finally catch him at about the 1000ft mark and then pass him just before the finish line, but I broke out. Oh well, that's racing. The only time I ran under my dial of 13.10 with a 13.069. I was contemplating dropping my dial to 13.05 too cuz weather was cooling down. Trust your instincts. They're correct 99.9% of the time. Hat's off to Kenny, he won the whole deal last night.

Oh yeah, Mark ,buy some lotto tickets today!

Yeah, I'm sure Zeke should be running upper 12's. A tune does wonders for these cars. He'll get that 12 next weekend at B-Town.

14's? What are you talking about? My Formula has never run a 14 second pass ever for as long as I've owned it. The slowest I ever ran with it was a 13.9 with a broken differential.

Man that's some good driving. I seen you make one run in competition and ya won. That is strange to be running such close times, then all over the place. Was there another purple car there? seems I seen another one/

Bahahaha ok the I guess I cant be more wrong. Still good consistency on the runs. His reaction time and car is quicker but you were very consistent. What are your mods on the formy? Looks likes he just got an exuast and a lid. Have you has yours tuned by Ellis? I'm sure he could pikc up a few extra ponies for you, unless you've been there and done that and its running its best.... Then its time for more parts

Yeah, well I think there's a rematch in order here now that I've done a little tweaking. We'll see how it runs on Saturday.
