Good to see you guys...
Man, I was just giveing up the races. In the 2nd I cut a .014 to his .030 but ran a 12.899 on my 12.93. It was hard to judge a car coming on you w/ 22 mph more than you have. And in the 1st of the cash bash I cut a .016 to his .064 but gave the stripe back by .007. But that's bracket racing for you. I did run the car again and cut a .006, 1.81 60', and ran a 12.768 which beats the previous best for the car which was a 12.87. Still a fun night!

We had a good turnout last night. NW F-bodies had 18 cars, Ford Drag Team had 16 (17 actually, but 1 was DQ'd for having slicks). FDT won the night when Mike Lattin beat our Bill Sallia in the final, but we had 3 of the 4 cars in the semi-finals so I think we did alright in the points.
My car was all over the place, for it anyway. It ran anywhere from 11.85 to 12.15. And I sucked driving. I cut a .4, a .07, a -.07, a .06, and then a -.05 in round 2 (losing to that WILD 18 second Metro-BEAST!!!) So once more I screwed the pooch after Kenny went out 1st round. But it was fun being there with everyone!
My son had fun too. The Daytona is about 1/2 sec slower than I thought it would be. It ran a best of 14.75, which is about 1/4 sec slower than the GTO was with that few miles on it. And it too has a screwed up factory tune. It was a 1-2 10ths different on each pass.

Yeah, I wish I could have done more for the team... I cut .064, .006, .017, and .027 for lights on the night. So with being on like that, you would think I wouldn't have lost in the first damn round. But I lost... I tree'd my opponent bad, and then I figured all I had to do was get into 4th gear, then watch to make sure I didn't break out and didn't let him past me. So what happened? I messed up the 3-4 shift.
I had the tree down... and I miss something so mundane as a 3-4 shift. Pissed me off something fierce.
Made me think even more I need a damn auto... ain't gonna miss a shift in an auto. Well, unless we leave it in 2nd gear, right Doug?

Yeah I was pretty dissapointed with my performance. When I took the car to Mission I was doing 2.2-2.3 60fts with consistent 15.2-15.3 @ 90, but this time I had my friend in the car and would either bog bad or burn them through all of first even letting off and my best 60ft was like 2.4 and was running shitty 15.9s @ 88 . The guy I raced against got a .019 light to my .067 and then caught me pretty quick and just coasted through the traps ahead of me. He beat me bad.. It was the 05 GT with nitrous..

Nice way to put it Mark, "little squirrely". What a freakin' moron. He may be a great driver but once your out of the groove don't get back on it. Take notes, make adjustments, then try again. It's a little different in competition...
