Hope your "ugly mug" is looking better soon (maybe it will be an improvement
).......Atleast you got good meds......
Sorry man, for you and your dog....
Zoe, on the other hand, got a good meal of her favorite canned dog food the next day and then a ride in the truck - back to the humane society where she was not made available for re-adoption.
Those that knew Zoe know she was a very good dog with a lot of personality. Also very stubborn and defiant... but that was the breeding (pit bull, chow, german shepard, lab). She had a full range of emotions and would communicate them well. It was weird and kind of scary sometimes. I raised her from 3 1/2 months to almost 2 years old. But, in the end, she forgot her place.
Shine(r), my boxer, is still adjusting to not having her around. I guess we all are.

I spent Zoe's entire life working on getting her over her defensive aggressive nature. If she felt threathened she was ready to bite. Submission work was a large part... but not the part that mattered the most. What mattered was teaching her that I was not going to hurt her if she was in a compromised position. Towards the end, she was getting very good about not snapping or showing fear when not warranted.

ANY dog can snap one day and I agree it is not a "pitbull" thing either. Heal up and I hope things go well!
