I need to sacrifice a virgin to the Mods God
I took the car out for it's maiden voyage with the new mods installed. Well, let's say with the KB BAP. The Meth Kit isn't working right. But I'll get to that...
Anyway, with the BAP turned all the way up & no tuning the car ran like crap. Fuel pressure only dropped to 50 psi. Hooked the scanner up & saw the inj duty cycle was 60% & the O2s were 990. (normal for my car was 90% & 940 & 40 psi or less). So I lowered the PE table & it ran fine. That is with the BAP at 50%, so I think this will supply enough fuel even for the smaller pulley.
Now about the meth kit, it won't pump any fluid and makes a high pitch whine. Also, when I turn on the lights all the gauges go to full deflection. With the car off if I turn on the lights all the pumps run - fuel, water, fans....WEIRD!
I have the power for the meth kit connected to where everything else is, Ign on the fuse panel. When I moved it's pwr source to Batt by itself the weird issue went away, but no change to the pump.
So I connected the pump straight to 12V & Gnd & it pumps like crazy. With the pump disconnected I get 12V out of the controller, but when I connect it it drops to .5V. Must be something wrong in the electronic contoller box. SO no testing the meth out this weekend.
The good news is I seem to have enough fuel now.....

Yeah well, for some reason this one really pissed me off & I just couldn't walk away. The lights screwing everything up made NO sense. Rule 1 about electrical problems is plug it in. Check. Rule 2 is when it doesn't make sense, you missed something. Checking....
So I went back to the basics. Power = good. Ground = good when the ignition is on, but 10V when the lights are on.....hmmmmm. Turns out the Gnd point I was using was okie doke for small currents like gauges, But as soon as I tried to use it for a BIG load like the Meth pump / controller, ZAP, it now back-feeds power into all those circuits. You would think being an electrical engineer I would have thought of this to begin with.
Gauges work, lights work, meth pump works.....YES!!! Now to get the nozzle installed.

Cool Mark. I was going to suggest bad ground. I had very funky problems when part of my headlight was grounding out in my Volvo (damn window wipers wouldn't turn off).

It could be worse...
I had both of my new twin turbos fry within 200 miles of getting it all dialed in. I had an oil check valve problem. Oil starvation = $1,600 to replace the cartridges (ball bearing turbos with no rebuild kits anymore, need new cartridges.)
