Default Pinks -Heads Up?

Won by a gal in a '62 Ford Truck... Just curious if you guys enjoyed the format. I think the more air time given to any form of drag racing will bring people to the track. That makes the program a postiive in my view. Again, like on the first Pinks episodes, the new format was aired without giving any technical info on the cars racing. All the racers involved seemed happy just to make the field and earn a little money, so the sportsmanship was excellent. The whole program was more upbeat. I found myself pulling for a 69 Camaro. Kind of a rat rod, rough and fast. The 'ole boy' driving it seemed to really need the money. Some of the contestents had been winners on past Pinks episodes, so we got to see how fast their cars really were.

Yea, I thought it was pretty good. Wish they would give more info/details on each driver/car like they did before. I was rooting for the couple vettes that made it, go figure. If they come this way again, we'll see a few of us trying to get in.

I actually enjoyed it. I didnt really care for the speed class that they ran in and the weeeaaaaaaaaak betting the racers were doing. They got a 1000 to bet and they were only going in with 200-300.

I liked the idea of the 10.5 class but it would have been nice to see the injected camaro make more than one pass. But considering he ran 7.81 @ 181, there wasnt alot of competition in his area. I think the next closest car was 9.1.

A guy I used to race with in Phoenix took his '68 out there, but he was not chosen to be on the show. If anybody has seen the behind the seens footage it was the twin turbo BBC Yellow '68 Camaro.

The new format is basically that 12.50 and 10.80 (?) class I see run at Bremerton. It's heads up, but if you go under the index, you lose. What is that class called, anyone?

It seems to be a sort of "wide band" bracket racing. and what I think the modderator is still trying to do is keep the old "street dragracing" connection as If you want to know what someone had under the hood you can PAY to find out! The first pass Is always "heads-up" then the old boys would work out lengths or something. I was glued to the T.V. for the whole day watching all the previous episodes and man,...I dig the **** of the NEW format, Its not far off from what you will find at Bithlo raceway out on Rt. 50 outside of Orlando, Fla. on any friday night !!

I like parts of it, but didn't like the overall feel of the show!

The initial weeding out part sucked, but would probably have been fun to be there to see. The end was interesting and worth the wait. I wouldn't want this to be the new format though. They would have to change the name and I would lose interest way easy!

If they are racing for cash now and not titles to the cars, it can't be legitimately called "PINKS"

I think they are trying to get rid of all the sand baging. I have seen many pinks episodes where they say to bring a 12-13 sec street car, and one guys does and the other a full race car.
