I know what a s/c'd LS motor will do. And the last time I tallied the score it was faster than any of the Stangs on here, and mine is full dress (+ I aint pushing it's limit yet). Well, there MIGHT be one Stang on here that's faster, but he won't come out & play.....

Not trying to start ****, I have a LOT of respect for my friends in the Blue Oval gang that race with us! Just telling Ken if he wants to see what an LS motor with a blower runs like, look no farther, I'm here. And I'd leave the nitrous & turbo cars alone if I were you.

Jr your car dosen't make enough power to break rearends. When you start making some real power and you can out run my truck, come and talk to me until then understand this, your car is slower than all the cars that post in the northwest section.
So don't come in here talking big so you can back up Dad.

Leave it to chebby to release a 170hp V8.
Leave it to Chevy? Have you forgotton your car's history dude? The V8 1982 Mustang "GT" had a flippin 2 bbl carb and barely made 157 hp and that was the 5.0!!! 1983-84 they increased it with a 4 bbl to something around 170-185 hp. 1985 they made the best carbed 5.0 (current emmission motors) and that had 210 hp. The first fuel injected 5.0 in the GT (and notchbacks) made 200 hp (1986) and upgraded it to 225 FINALLY in 87 and that lasted till when? 1995/1996? Though many say (and probably rightfully so) that it was under rated........so for 3+ years, 1979-1982/3, your beloved Ford made a V8 that made under 180 hp.....and for 1 year, under 160!!!

Now bear in mind that the engines I listed were the ONLY performance/V8 available for the stangs....well, ok, I forgot about the SVO Mustang (with the turbocharged 4 banger ) and the "turbo" GT's (also 4 bangers if memory serves) in the late 70's/early 80's......but still.
Chevy/GM used that 170 TBI dog as the BASE motor for the RS/base coupes and the base motor in IROC's & Z-28's/Trans Am's.....there were usually 2+ upgraded (more powerful) engines available for our cars at that same time.

And if you wanna talk drivetrain? Yeah, the 4th Gen 10 bolt rear end is a POS but how about that "world class" T5 in the 5.0/4.6? How many decades was that in your fords? Let's see....in 1982 they still used the 4 speed manual, then they put that high quality T5 in in 1983......and they are STILL using it in the 07's now!! (Don't know if it is the same POS from the 80's but c'mon already....) I know the 03-04 Cobra's got a 6 speed but the GT carried right on with a 5 speed. And how about those interiors? The quality BITES!!!!! I have had 2 Gt's, an 86 5 spd and a 93 AOD and on both the interiors were junk, with parts falling off with less then 25k on the clock!!!!! While Gm did choose to use a similar 5 speed in the 3rd gens, they got wise and upgraded to the 6 speed by 1993. When do you think that Ford will finally get a 6 speed in the GT's? I know the new Shelby Mustangs come with a 6 speed....at least they got that part right.......finally

Mine does. Fortunately I dont have to worry about it, my car didnt come with a weak rearend.

I will say there arent very many F bodies in here with all stock long blocks with any power adder running with me. Crazy what you can do with a 78 ford fairmont chassis and an old mark 7 motor.

Seriously Sean why are coming over here starting ****. Crawl back under your Ford rock. I don't roll around your boards talking about what a piece of **** the fox body is. I had one I know what they can do and what there problems are.
It was fairly civil until you started talking out your ***. We have a pretty good amount of Ford guys here who actually race withus and we help each other, we would like to keep it that way.
Talking your uneducated smack is not good unless these guys actually know you and you show up at the track.

The best early 80's mudstain put out about 180 hp, to say that "many" early 90's 3rd gens had the TBI is laughable.......a small percentage of the 90-92 3rd gens got the baseline motor......whereas ALL early 80's mudstains got that POS 5.0.........so I am not sure what point you were trying to make other then ford's got junk as the only available motor.

FYI, the other motors available for the 90-92 Z's and TA's had anywhere from 210-245 hp depending on what option ht edealership or owner wanted. Anything beyond 92 was a 4th gen with the 275hp LT1 or the 305-325 hp LS1. It took Ford until 2005 to give the standard GT motor 300 hp......up until 2004, the modular 4.6 barely had 260 hp. So basically it took your team decades before they gave it a reasonable motor......someday (maybe) they will offer a good optional motor that makes the GT a decent performer. Heck they still don't make as much now as the F-Body did 5 years ago.

And when it comes back in '09, it will (at a minimum) get the LS2 with 400 hp!!!
