I saw that on the news when I was on my honeymoon on CNN......gee, I wonder if it was the last set of tenants who got evicted?

As for the headers, I have always had good luck using/listening to the phrase: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Hopefully this isn't one of those situations......cuz $150 is a SMOKING deal provided they are in good/useable shape.

Have yet to actually "pick them up". Only gave him a down payment to hold them for me until I make it up there this weekend. Keep your fingers they look flawless....like Rottluver said..."If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". I will soon find out if that is the case!

I think they are. The only difference would be the lack of EGR/AIR hookups. But hey, if your putting on headers, that's the perfect time to trash that stuff.

98-00 have AIR and EGR. 01 and 02 do not have the EGR (LS6 manifold IIRC) so if your car has the stock LS1 intake manifold, you might have to find one from a later model or just get a new LS6 manifold as those are sans the EGR stuff.

I just looked at the post again (which has since been removed from Craigs List) and they didn't appear to have AIR attachments....but only one pic came up and when I refreshed, it went blank and said the post expired. :\

It "looks like" they are the race only version w/o the AIR or EGR hookups. If you remove those things from your car (if they aren't gone already) then they "should" fit.

I'm looking at race headers too. I pretty sure for our state, with OBD II they don't do the sniffer. All they do is plug their computer into yours, and it asks your car if everything kosher. If your computer say's it is, your on your way. All you'd have to do is have someone like Ellis tune out the error codes. That way your car thinks it still has all the emissions crap. Gotta love modern technoligy, and not living in Cali (all cars there have to do a sniffer). Hell, you can even rip off the cats on your car and still pass emissions.

As far as the headers, there are a few sponsors that are having sales on race and street ones going as low as $150. I'd rather buy from them and pay shipping than to cross fingers on a deal from Craigslist - there is a difference in race vs street headers as mentioned.

jewbacca - yes but if they suspect anything fishy they will have you pop the hood for a full inspection in which case you can be screwed.

I went through emissions with a full cage, race seats, detachable steering wheel and all the rest of the goodies. The only difference was the boom tube wasnt on the car then, just the flowmaster. they just scanned me and sent me on my way.
